    Re: Pumping too much milk

Thanks for all the advice. Pumping until I am empty has helped. Not entirely sure why I felt compelled not to keep going until I was empty/soft. Today was my first day back at work and it went well...

    Re: Pumping too much milk

Thanks for the advice. Should I pump at night to alleviate some of the dicomfort? I will pump a little tonight. She is sleeping more but not necessarily making up for the missed feeding. It's my...

    Re: Pumping too much milk

She will miss several feedings while I am at work. She nurses about every 2-3 hours. So about 4 feedings.
    The article is very helpful.
I will give it sometime and see if her appetite increases...

    Pumping too much milk

I will be returning back to work and my DD is 6 wks old. I started pumping once a day last week on one side and let her nurse on the other to start banking up milk. My right side always had an over...
  5. Re: for those of who you who skipped baby cereal

I don't give my dd cereal everyday (oatmeal). Oatmeal and others alike can be high in fiber and when you add a veggie diet your little one may be getting more fiber than think resulting in "blowouts"...

    Re: backup pump?

I have a back up pump. I work with kids from social services and got tied up in court one day and needed to pump. It was the worst day ever. My supervisor said it happened to her once and that she...

    Re: Help! Green milk!

I would have to agree with another post. The foods you eat can alter the color of breast milk. If I eat anything green my bm is green also. Salads, collard greens etc. I thought something was wrong...

Re: Pouring Milk Down The Drain

I don't think you need to do anything to the milk other than get hooked up with a milk bank and they do the rest. It's really a matter of getting a series of test done on yourself. I personally do...

Re: Pouring Milk Down The Drain

My next thought was to stop double pumping and only pump one side, I just wasn't sure how that would affect my milk supply.
I will try the single pumping and see how that works out.
    She eats ok...

    Pouring Milk Down The Drain

I have to say that I am tired of freezing extra milk. I pump 2 times at work and get 10oz (total). I would have more if I pumped longer. I normally pump 10m first session and 5min the second session....

Re: pumping at work - nervous

I have a private office also. You have to be comfortable. I would consider this day a bust for your right side (no pun intended). The more you pump at work and look at pictures the easier the flow...

Re: Only can pump 1 time at work

You have quite a few questions. I will try to help you with a couple. Pumping real early in morning will help however as your baby grows you may not produce enough for daycare with only two sessions....

  14. Re: New mom, exlusive pumping-leaking everywhere!! help!!

I leaked a lot to and thought it would never end. I bought disposable nursing pads (Gerber).
I leaked to much to have the washable kind. I would have needed to wash every day.
    The leaking didn't...

I was recently exposed to the chicken pox and potentially my dd. I talked to my ped. and she said it is unlikely for a baby that young (2mo.) at the time to catch the chicken pox. Most baby's are...

    Re: question on quantity

Wow, I can't believe how many 4mo. olds drink 4oz. I thought my dd should be taking as much but she doesn't. Her weight is fine she is in the 70th percentile (2mo. check-up). We go for her 4mo....
  18. Re: Difficulty opening Medela storage bags

I use Gerber bags. I love them, they are very easy to use. I have to write how many ounces are in the bag because it doesn't look accurate.

I quit using the Medela bags to much trouble.

    I have...

  22. Re: pumping with this work schedule?

I will attempt to answer some of your questions. Within an eight hour period you should pump atleast 3 times or you can do it based on the number of missed feedings or you can monitor how often your...

    Re: How to pump less

Double pumping should do the trick if you are not already. I pump 3 times at work (using a double pump) It only takes two sessions to get a total of 8oz of milk because my dd isn't drinking a lot...
