Re: Number of times/day for 1-year old

Different kids eat/nurse different amounts - all is normal! My 1 year old nurses about 5-6 times per day FWIW.

Re: Help, I lost it, need help now

Please, please - consider feeding your lo some formula asap. It's situations like yours that formula should really be for. Please, take care of yourself physically - you need to be around for your...

    Re: Munchkin mesh feeder

Just FTR and FWIW. I've never used a mesh feeder - not because I'm opposed to them - just never tried it on either of my dd's. I liked the info provided, though. And I'm having a wonderful day,...

    Re: Munchkin mesh feeder

I'm going to apologize in advance if I'm offensive to anyone on this forum. I usually stay out of these types of discussions (like the saturated fats one), but all I wanted to say here is: O.M.G....

Re: More milk 2nd time around?

I've had better luck bf'ing dd2 - supply wise and duration. DD2 is still nursing at almost a year, but dd1 didn't - we lasted 6 months. I think this was due to several things - better supply,...

    Re: chicken

I gave dd2 chicken around 9-10 months. Make sure it's not chewy - cooked well but not overcooked to stringy/chewy texture. At almost 1 year, she loves breaded chicken most - of course!

    Re: Am I scalding right?

No, I think you need to scald to 160 for 20 seconds or up to 180 then cool quickly. I can't remember the exact temps, but it's on the thread for scalding. I use a thermometer, but you don't have...

    Re: Am I scalding right?

This is the only info I could find on the Danger Zone for foods:

Bacteria, or other germs, need time, food and moisture (or wetness) to grow; but they won't grow when the temperature of the food...

Re: Baby only took 6 ozs over 10 hrs!

My dd2 started daycare at around 4.5 months and was exclusively nursed prior to that. It was about 2 weeks of torture for everyone trying to get her used to bottles of EBM. We tried several weeks...

    Re: Am I scalding right?

I think the scalding part is right (I use a thermometer), but I cool it quickly by putting pan into bowl of ice water and stir constantly. This avoids long exposure to the "dangerous zone" of...

Re: allergy to Antibiotics for ear infection?

my DD2 had an allergic reaction to penicillan (amoxycillan), too. No diah, but she got a rash on her legs and torso - we thought she had chicken pox, but it was allergic reaction to the amoxycillan....

my lo has been getting foods cooked with eggs for awhile now - since around 10 months or so. I didn't know otherwise - oops! She's been fine. Just gave her scrambled eggs this weekend at 11.5...

Re: any advice on intro of cow's milk?

FWIW - my dd1 (almost 3) rarely drinks milk - she never took to it much. We go with calcium/vitamin D fortified orange juice instead for her. It has as much calcium and vitamin D (if not more) per...

Re: any advice on intro of cow's milk?

I'll be interested to see your your dd takes to cow's milk. The DCP told me my dd literally threw it across the room after one sip - she was very angry with the contents - cold, different, sippy cup...

Re: Breakfast Ideas for 2 year old

Don't know your allergy situation, but we've done multi grain waffles on the go. Also, I've been known to allow PB&J on whole wheat - shhhh - don't tell. That's not a good on the go one, though -...

Re: any advice on intro of cow's milk?

Perhaps you are needing to supplement your BM? We were given the thumbs up from ped's office to introduce some cow's milk at 11.5 months in lieu of formula (she's not had it before) if it worked as...

I agree with pp's. Personally, I wouldn't even try feeding her solids until the U/S and doctor's evaluation. She doesn't need them yet, anyway.

    Good luck!

    Re: 11 month slump

    Re: 11 month slump

What do you send with her to drink while you are away now? I'd love to ditch the pumping sessions when my lo is a year (a couple more weeks), but I don't know what she'd take at dc if I didn't pump.
