  1. Re: Sleeping through the night, very full in the morning....

I would have to disagree with Andrea. If your baby is sleeping through the night, don't wake her. Dr. Sears advises this too, if I'm not mistaken.
You are doing what you can, actually. Eventually...

Re: Could I go for 5-6 hrs. w/out pumping...?

If you are only going that long 3 times a week, and the other days emptying your breasts during that time, I would think that your supply would not be too affected, since your supply should be well...

Re: OS, how can I fix it with block pumping?

My LO didn't take the shield when she was little bitty either and I thought not enough could come out of it. But now it is great. With our supply, there is plenty of milk with lots of force behind...

    Re: infant massage

I use almond oil and learned from a certified infant masseuse who came to my house and only charged $20 per half hour to teach us. It was pretty cool. If anyone is from the OKC area and wants her...

Re: OS, how can I fix it with block pumping?

    Krystal,
First off, keep offering your breast. Have you tried offering it with a nipple shield?
I posted this and didn't get a response for quite a while, so I experimented. Here's what worked...

    Re: Nursing to no avail

Milk supply is increased by keeping the breast as empty as possible. A newborn suckling all the time is normal. She is building your supply. When you give formula, you keep yourself from building...
  7. Re: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

No..I up and completely forgot about the class until later that afternoon. D'oh! I'll have to find out when next month's class is.

Re: Green poop = too much foremilk
    Probably so. It's seems...
  8. Re: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

She gets sweeter and cuter every day. :)

    Let's go! When is it?

We are ready now. She is not the best with NIP. We need practice, I guess. She pops on and off a lot to look around - and...
  9. Update: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

Guess what!?! Raen hasn't had a bottle in 9 days!! Yup, strickly breastfed now (using a nipple shield, of course). In a few days I plan to start working to try to get her off the shield. 3 months...

    Re: Slow flow nipples

We really like the BreastFlow. It's got a nipple inside of a nipple. It's been great for us. The nipple tip is too short for the baby to get ahold of, so she has to open wide and take the wider part...

Re: too much sleep and oversupply

You sound very emotional and tired which is normal at 2 weeks post partum. I was a basketcase for 3 weeks after my baby was born. It's hard to be rational when you feel that way.
    Newborns have...
  13. Re: 11 weeks old and regressing on sleeping and eating???

Wow, my baby is 3 months old and doing the exact same things. Used to sleep well, several good long naps during the day and 5-7 hours at night. Now she wakes up so easily! I guess it is a normal...

Re: Too much milk and can't donate

Just a note of encouragement. Keep offering your breast. You might try a nipple shield. Your story is exactly like my situation. Exactly.
My baby is 3 months old. She would not latch, screams...

OS, how can I fix it with block pumping?

Hi, I'm sure you ladies have heard this question a hundred times, but please tell me! I exclusively pump to feed my 2 month old, since she fights the breast. I have been trying to get her to latch...

    Re: Baby's Tongue is White

Sounds like milk tongue. If it were thrush, your baby would be in a lot of pain, and may refuse to nurse.
  19. Re: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

Thanks Carpentergirl. Good info/suggestions. I'll try pumping off some of the foremilk. Nipple trimming can't be done on my shield since it's silicone. It would leave sharp edges that can cut...
  20. Re: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

Kate, that is so great! She took a full feeding from you? Sweet! Do you use a shield, or have you gotten her to take your nipple?
  21. Re: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

She detaches herself after 20 minutes like she is frustrated and wants her bottle. You think it's just a practice thing?
It *feels* like she is sucking hard enough, but you think she might not be?
  22. Re: Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

Lots. And several good poops during the day too. But she is still being fed expressed breast milk via bottle until I know she is getting enough milk through the shield. I gotta get the shield...
  23. Milk OS, but baby not getting enough through shield

    Hi,
My baby was born by c/s after 12 hours of labor not progressing due to a face presentation. Her face was all swollen when she came out. She didn't latch when we tried to breastfeed because she...
