Re: How many times a day?

I'm just starting this a bit at 6 months and am feeding baby 2 x a day. I was going to do one meal a day but honestly she doesn't really eat much of anything yet. I just set her at the table for...

    Re: Breastpump

Look for your receipt, if it's been less than a year they'll replace it. Mine died as well after 4 months... If you don't have a receipt, look for the born-on date on your pump as they will replace...
  3. Re: Has anyone used a manual pump? Help

Whew thanks! Big relief that it works(!). 3oz in less than minutes on each side. Very doable in a pinch and MUCH quieter and more comfortable :-). Thank you!!!

Funny too I forgot my storage...
  4. Has anyone used a manual pump? Help!!

Okay, can I just say I am having the worst day....

My pump just stopped working this morning as I tried to pump as usual for my first session of the day. I can't take the day off work today as...

Re: LO not drinking at DCP

My LO refused the bottle at first other than taking the edge off the first week 1/2 of daycare and then has been fine once we switched bottles during our 2nd week. But now 2 months after doing fine...

Re: Freakin' out for no reason...

It's a good idea to chat with a consultant but my baby sounds about the same. She's very efficient now at 3 months and eats well except in the evenings when she's extremely fussy some days.

    3-4...

    Re: Storage at work

Seems odd to me as well. Since our fridge is a little icky at work at times, I just use a tiny cooler. I put the ice packs in before work and then pump 3x a day and pop in the pumping equipment...
  8. Re: 3 month old won't take a bottle from

We had a similar issue, baby loved the bottle, then I stopped using it every couple days and then she hated it. A week before I went back (after trying daily with multiple bottles-I had 6 different...

    Re: Birth Control while Nursing?

Good reminder, I used to use the cervical cap years ago and forgot all about the barrier type methods available. . I'll have to ask more about IUD's as well. I don't know anything about them. ...

    Re: Birth Control while Nursing?

Yes! I saw that last night and definitely did not take the pill this morning. Thankfully I've had a pretty steady oversupply so far and it just started to slow down this last week. I thought it...

    Re: Birth Control while Nursing?

The one I was prescribed was Safyral. It doesn't say it's harmful but it does have estrogen and says to use after you are done breastfeeding. Like mentioned, the websites I found said to avoid...

Re: Feeling deflated about weight gain

We're at 10 lbs, 10oz as well. Very helpful information! Glad to know we're not the only ones. She's gaining every week but not as much as she did in the beginning so maybe there is a small...

    Birth Control while Nursing?

I've been a little overdue in making a decision about birth control and my doctor recommended waiting until 3 months as I was leaning towards the IUD so I just now started.

I was going to go with...
  14. Re: Back to work - LO didn't each much

Great job on your first week! I've just finished my 2nd week and LO only ate 3 ounces a day for the first week and first few days this week.

Thankfully, either they got into a rhythm finally or...

    Re: A few more questions

Ah okay, that negative feedback sort of makes sense to me. I tried just 2x pumping today (9:30 and 2:00pm) and I didn't feel much more uncomfortable than when I do 3x a day so I'll see how it goes....
  16. Re: Which bottles would your recommend?

BreastFlow but I've heard good things about Tommee Tippie and Playtex (the latex nipple) dropins.

    Re: A few more questions

Interesting. I'll experiment this week and see if I notice a difference. I guess having too much milk is better than too little but gosh it's uncomfortable and I hate drowning the poor kid :-D

    Re: A few more questions

Hmm okay I wonder if I'm making the wrong assumption.

I assumed that if I just pumped out a little (1-2oz per side - 5 minutes total time pumping) 3x a day that was about right, keep the quantity...

    A few more questions

    Just a couple questions :-)

    1) Where do I get a car adapter for my Lansinoh pump? Is it just some kind of standard adapter that I can get at RadioShack or is it special?

    2) Have any tips on...
  20. Adjustment in supply, how many oz?

Not sure if this goes in the pumping area or not...but another question from me :-)

I just went back to work this week and started pumping regularly everyday for 3 sessions during the work day. I...

Re: Ideas to get baby to take bottle?

7 months is a lot older than mine but I don't have a lot of suggestions. Typically caregivers have experience with this and it would be okay. For us, we are at 3 months and I just went back to work...
  22. Re: When can you (or did YOU) go on Dema

Once our baby stopped being so sleepy I went on demand. I think it's okay after they gain some weight and once they stop sleeping through the feedings(?) I still set the alarm at night for 4 hours...
  23. Re: Skipping a day, Pumping in the car?

Thanks for the tips! I've found that some days I get pretty busy and it's hard to get in 3 pump sessions as well so knowing how to use the car can help me escape at lunch and make sure I get in that...
  24. Skipping a day, Pumping in the car?

I went back to work this week and have been transitioning pretty well. I pump 3x a day (2 breaks and lunch) and create about 3oz per session. I have added an extra mid-night session as well to send...
  25. Re: Overactive letdown or underproduction?

Does it happen every time you feed? With my baby I notice there was and sometimes is a huge long fussy period every day in which feeding is more difficult for her, she pulls off, cries, gets a lot...
