    Re: Post-weaning Nipple wierdness- help!

My dd weaned 4 months ago and the same thing is happening to me. She nursed for 22 months.

I asked this in a different thread but, maybe you'll have an answer: My nipples are still permanently...
  2. DD weaned in October, my nipples are stil erect!

This is embarrasing and very personal but, I didn't know where else to ask.
My dd self weaned completely by the begining of October... I had some ups and downs with my hormones and now everything...

    Re: Menstruation returning?

I don't think anyone can answer that. It's up to your body. But you can take a home pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant.

Good luck with your hormones! :) Mine took a while to settle...

Re: Dd weaned, hormones gone crazy! Help!

My dd weaned on 10/7/06 and that 1st month was a rollercoaster of hormones! After that it started to very slowly get better. I would say that I just now feel like myself again, almost 2 months after...

    Re: I need help weaning

Oh! I forgot to tell you that one thing that helped my bf lo was, doing lots of things with her in between nursings (singing, dancing, reading, holding her really, really close while softly singing...

    Re: I need help weaning

The pp is right on target! My 2 children went through this (and one of them was not bf) and the lo I watch has started as well (and her mother does not bf her). Every thing I read (including this...

Re: She is starting to wean and i am so sad

What helped me to restore my milk supply when it would dip (and it happened a few times)
Mother's Milk Tea - I would make iced tea using 4 tea bags & 32 oz of water.
Protein - eat lots of nuts,...

    Re: Positive psychology regarding weaning

    I love this thread. It puts a positive spin on why I feel sad but, happy;
BF has been one of the hardests things I have ever done, but, one of the most rewarding. I did NOT expect the sadness that...

Re: Dd weaned, hormones gone crazy! Help!

It amazes me that we all feel a degree of grieving once weaning starts and that not one book or person mentioned to me that this could happen. It wouldn't have changed any of the parenting choices...

    Re: Thinking of weaning

    Hi there!

What made me decide to try child led weaning was reading the book Mother-Daughter Wisdom by Christiane Northrup, M.D. (I read while pumping or when dd was asleep)
    It really made sense...

Re: Dd weaned, hormones gone crazy! Help!

Happy Halloween to all of you!

I am (very) slowly feeling better. But, I still miss bf dd. She "bonked" her head yesterday pretty hard and started to scream, automatically I assumed bf position to...

Re: Dd weaned, hormones gone crazy! Help!

You know... I used the resourses on this website a lot when I was working and nursing, then, as I fell onto a groove, I didn't need so much help anymore. Now, since dd has weaned I log on daily. I...

  15. Re: Is my 17mo self weaning because of diminished mild supply?

    Hi there!
Well dd asked to nursed on friday (she had a fever) but, only nursed for a few seconds so, no let down happened. It was as if she just needed reasurance that it was ok to nurse if she...
  16. Re: Is my 17mo self weaning because of diminished mild supply?

Well... It's been emotional. I'm proud of her, she is very high needs, high strung (just like her mother!) so, the fact that she self weaned and that so far, she has handled it so well, means a lot...

Re: Ready to throw in the towel

With both ds K and dd N, there was blood in the breast milk (when they were newborns), and we had no problems related to this.

Since you've been to a lc they probably told you this but, I'll...
  18. Re: Is my 17mo self weaning because of diminished mild supply?

    Hello!
I'm not sure about the milk supply question but, this is how my dd started weaning and it took her about 5 or 6 months to completely wean. She was ready before I was... I feel pretty mixed...

Re: Ready to throw in the towel

    Hi there!
I know how you feel. I found pumping to be pretty painfull until, I put a thin coat of lanolin on the pump's breast flange. This reduced friction and it really helped. Also, I used hard...

Dd weaned, hormones gone crazy! Help!

    Hello!
My dd self weaned beautifully at 21 months (even though I wasn't ready, she was). She gradually decreased her daily nursings over a period of 6 months or so. The last time she nursed was to...
