Re: feel cold all the time

Wow, that is interesting. My pregnancy "I'm hot" feeling stays with me even 1 year later. Everybody in my family has pointed out how I used to be cold all the time and wear extra stuff and now...

Re: Is it better to give cup or bottle?

Personally I don't see how a 4 month old can handle the cup...I'm thinking about lots of spillage of precious breastmilk, here. I'd go for the bottle, as sucking on a nipple is what a 4 month old do...

Re: beer, MIL driving me nuts

Whether or not that really works with the beer, I'd go that far and tell my MIL that I drank a beer like she told me to but nothing out of the extraordinary happened. Maybe then she will stop :)

Re: Will what I eat affect baby's bowels?

Yes I confess to having mixed bm with water during the hot summer. Why? It was hot and he would not drink water by itself and he had similar issues. Other than that I don't know if you eating prunes...

Re: Have I Made a Huge Mistake?

I don't think you should worry about this at all, just like the pp said :) Breastfeeding does create a special bond, but babies breastfed or not have this anxiety.
  6. Re: Iron supplements for mostly breastfed, veg 15 mth old?

I would re-test, then you don't have to guess and worry anymore.
I'm usually a quiet vegetarian but I really hate those guilt-mechanisms that people use because they think humans, esp babies must...

    Re: pumping question

I pumped once somewhere in between after he went to bed in the evening and before I went to bed myself. That somehow worked to sneak out some extra milk to start building a stash.

Re: Infrequent BM at 5 Months?

Mine started that also at 5 months. I suspected the daycare giving him solids at first but the poop remained runny. He did it once every 4-5 days. It also started smelling more, probably from being...

    Re: Side Lying position

It is worth every effort and practice because it's so relaxing for mom and baby. but I personally can not really sleep while nursing, I'm surprised so many of you can. I mean, I doze off right...

Re: Bottle Rejection at 7 months

We had the same thing going on and I gave up with the milk. I nurse him directly. Strangely he will take juice from the bottle. And at daycare, he gets oatmeal prepared with breastmilk. However, he's...

Re: Is my DS self weaning? Could I be PG...?

Sounds like when he gets bottles, he prefers the formula? My son won't drink bm from bottles, too for some reason. I stopped trying at around 8 months, ever since he drinks juice at the daycare (he's...
  13. Re: Going to have c-sec... can I pump now while pregnant?

I wouldn't do it - in addition to what the previous poster said, I would be scared that any sudden pumping/letdown action triggers contractions or something. Unless your body is used to lactating...

    Re: Urgent Mastitis Prevention

I might add heatpacks as another idea. I have one of those gelpacks from the drugstore that worked wonders when I had a mild mastitis. However yours is more a case of cutting/wound and not duct...
  15. Re: Illness, and milk supply dropping since then

I had bad supply issues after a mild mastitis and it took about 2 weeks after my symptoms had completely cleared up for my supply to come back up. What I'm trying to say that even if it seems you're...

Re: When will my dd stop nursing at night?

I would do what you think is right, after all the you are not dealing with a medical emergency or medical problem which a pedi would know best about. If you feel it is best for your baby's needs...

    Re: Over weight baby???

I don't think you need to worry at all. My baby started out little and then became so chunky that I had the same worries. He was in the 95 percentile (?) in all the growth categories. Then it slowed...

    Re: More nose wiping

I would also more or less categorize this as a sign of the baby being tired. The only time I’ve seen a lot of it was when my son was about to get a cold and probably had an itchy nose. When he’s...

    Re: Solids, Breastmilk and Constipation...

We had the same thing going...it helped to totally avoid or limit constipating foods and feed more things that support regularity. My ds was crying and in pain when he had bowel movements and it hurt...
  20. Re: Is gerber food better than frozen home made food ?

I agree that homemade is better. Jarred food is cooked a lot and when you make your own you have control over how much heat you expose the food to. And yes, so true that canned veggies are not close...

Re: No more nurse to sleep?

I noticed that around the age of 9 months, that my ds slept with or without nursing, i.e. being out down to sleep by me or my husband. He still loves nursing though and I most definitely always...

Re: DD cries at other adults and when NIP

DS doesn't want to NIP anymore after he got 4-5 months. As others have said-- too much distraction going on. I just deal with it, even though it used to be practical to be able to NIP (my firstborn...
