  1. Re: Does Watermelon really help increase supply?

    Mama2Caleb2006,

Actually I was told the opposite, by a LC.

Watermelon is a natural diuretic and can dcrease milk supply and was told to limit it. I have never researched it though.
  2. Re: Ok... acidophilius or grapefruit seed extract?

I am no expert, however I do not think that Acidophilius on it's own will work. 3 out of my 4 as infants had thrush, I used the Gentian Violet, it is messy but it works. It worked much faster than...

  4. Oatmeal to increase supply? How much, how often?

I've seen oatmeal mentioned on the board to increase milk supply. Currently I am taking fenugreek, 3 or 4 capsules 3 to 4 times a day. I need to increase my supply a little more.

    Does oatmeal...

    Re: cup feeding

I use the little medicine cup that comes with Tylenol or Triaminic to supplement my baby. You can buy little cups that are softer made just for infant supplementaion, but my pediatrician said the...
  7. Re: Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle - a few questions.

I haven't tried Blessed Thistle, but am using Fenugreek, it is labled as "Fenugreek Seed" I was taking 4 tabs. 4 times a day, that is how much it took for me to smell like maple syrup. Now that my...
  8. Re: Lazy/sleepy 5 week old still won't nurse, help!

Yeah Darleen, that sounds like your guy is doing much better. Keep me posted about his progress and what the LC says.
  9. Re: Lazy/sleepy 5 week old still won't nurse, help!

Thank you for the encouragement! I NEED IT.

He is now 6 weeks and had a couple of times this week where he was trying to nurse, actively sucking and swallowing, but still didn't take more than an...
  10. Re: Lazy/sleepy 5 week old still won't nurse, help!

Thanks Darleen, I am happy to hear a date because right now it seems like it will never happen. How do they work on suckle strength? Does it just come by age, or is there something you can do to...
  11. Re: Lazy/sleepy 5 week old still won't nurse, help!

Thanks for the encouragement, is is very exhausting and frustrating. The article brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait for the day he "gets it", I hope it is soon.

    Anyone else have these issues?
  12. Lazy/sleepy 5 week old still won't nurse, help!

This may be a little long but I am trying to cover it all.

My baby was born at 8 lbs. 3 oz, at his 3 day appointment was down to 7 lbs. 5 oz., at the ped.'s weight check a week later didn't gain...
