    Donating pumping accessories?

What do you do with all the pump related stuff when you're done? I've got multiple medela bottles, a couple connectors, 5 sets of horns, not to mention the pump. I'd really just like to give them to...

Re: 1 year and pump weaned!

I'd like to be weaned by Christmas. I think I could wean now except for the 1-2 night wakings. She naps and goes to sleep at night just fine without nursing if I'm not home. We still have about 300...

    1 year and pump weaned!

We made it to 1 year and last week was my first week of not pumping. Oh so liberating not dragging that thing with me! Jordan has surprisingly taken to cow's milk without even blinking an eye. Today...

    Re: Flying and Milk Storage

Everything went well, even with a 2 hour weather delay going out, I'm lucky to have a large storage capacity..:thumbsup. Ended up bringing the milk back in a small cooler, about 80 ounces....

    Re: Flying and Milk Storage

I think they'll be fine too, just may be a stressful 2 workdays for dad. Previously I had been gone for 2 full days and one night this will be almost 4 days and 3 nights. It'll be the first time DD2...

    Re: Flying and Milk Storage

That same thing dawned on me last night and I posted on the facebook site for Alabama. No responses yet and but maybe I'll find someone. The town my grandfather is from is very small which makes...

    Re: Flying and Milk Storage

Hmm. Maybe I can take the little pump "block", out of my pump bag and put that into my carryon suitcase. I won't need to pump at the airport, thankfully. The pump bag is way bigger than it needs to...

    Re: Flying and Milk Storage

Thanks...it's an expected loss, my grandfather who was 91. I'll be flying down early Thursday and back on Sunday. Estimating about 30 ounces a day so it'll have to be a relatively larger cooler which...

    Flying and Milk Storage

For those of you that have had short flights with BM. Did you have to check your baggage due to the 2 bag limit? I assume that my pump and the cooler would be my 2 bags? Do they stick to this or...
  10. Re: donated breastmilk, to use or not?

Yes, use the breastmilk if she's willing to donate it! You just have to verify that she's not on any antibiotics/drugs and is disease-free. Have her do a little research online if she is...

Re: Exclusively Pumping For 1yr old

Are you weaning and transitioning her to cows milk or some other alternative milk or are you still looking to keep her on breastmilk?

At one year I was weaning to DD1 to whole milk and was down to...

    Re: Pumping Too Much?

    Don't give up yet!

I agree it is very tempting to give in to pumping with oversupply (especially since you're an experianced pumper). Keep at it! It's terribly frustrating in the beginning. My LO...

    Adjusting nursing for solids..

I could use a little advice on how to adjust our evening "schedule" for solids. I would essentially want DD2 to be at the table and eating table food at family dinner time but she usually doesn't...

    Re: Pumping Too Much?

Wow that's a lot of milk! I agree, if baby is nursing well stop pumping and only pump for comfort when needed and not until empty. I also EPed for a year and am now nursing and also found it is very...

    My milksharing baby

Don't know if I can link to facebook. So I'll try and copy/paste. So proud to be one of his donating milk mommas. If you have oversupply and have ever thought about donating, please look into it....
  16. Re: Second pumping never yields as much

IMO the reason why you get more the first time you pump is that you are also removing the milk that your LO didn't finish the last time you nursed him/her at home. I pump 20 minutes after my LO...
  17. Re: Need advice-pumping to let torn nipple heal

Sounds like the situation I was in. I don't have much advice but I can tell you waht happened to me. I let my left side heal "trying to" pump on that side every time DD2 fed from the good side. I was...
  18. Re: BREAStFEEDING MY BABY ASLEEP BEFORE I GO TO BED?

I do the same thing. DD2 wants to go to bed at 7:00 but we don't go to bed until 9:00. She sleeps about 4 hours a stretch. So I feed her between 6 and 7 and she sleeps downstairs with us while we...

    Re: Overnight work trip

My trip was a 4 hour drive so I brought a cooler with an ice block in it and used the mini-fridge in the room. I brought a 32 ounce Nalgen bottle to combine all the milk for the 2 days and not take...

    They survived!

DD2 did not want to take a bottle from Dad. She was up every 1/2 hour through the night, just waiting for me to come home. DH said he got 1 hour and 1.5 hours of longer sleep...

    Re: Over Supply...HELP

I have oversupply on one side only. I pump about 10-15 ounce more than DD2 eats in 9 hours at daycare. I currently pump after nursing in the morning at 6:15 and get between 5-8 ounces, then pump at...

Re: Stressed about upcoming work trip...

Good luck! I leave for my trip early Thursday morning and will be back Friday around dinner. So the girls get 1 night and 1 morning with Dad. Just hoping he's stocking up on his patience this week.

    Overnight work trip

DD2 is 4 months old and next week I have to take an overnight trip and will be gone two full days and one night.

I'm not concerned about me pumping or having enough milk (we've got tons).

    I'm...
  25. Re: preparing for second child, pump advice?

Also check your insurance, with the healthcare changes pumps are now covered by insurance depending on your policy. I got a new Medela PISA in October fully covered by my insurance.
