    Re: Sorry if TMI

YES, low estrogen is VERY VERY normal while breastfeeding! My midwife warned me about it at our first post-natal visit, and then during my recent GYN exam, my OB suggested the estrogen cream. KY...

Re: What contributes to early weaning?

I had to "fight" Cora to stay at the boob for a while there...at about 9-10 months...it was when she started cruising and everything was oh-so-interesting and she had figured out how to slide down...

Re: Weaning without cow milk or soy?

:lol My DD will NOT take pumped breastmilk in a cup...she looks at me like I am absolutely crazy! (Uumm, Mom, this is supposed to be in a bottle or a boob, ya know?) :lol
    But she LOVES...
  4. Re: nursing every hr during the day but not at night

I agree with previous poster, that is exactly when my daughter had a crazy growth spurt and she was trying to "up production," as my husband described it, LOL. :lol
Happened again at about 12 weeks...

Re: How much solids should 12 month old eat?

Everything I've read says at one year they can be down to 3-4 breastfeedings per day, then solids and snacks as hungry. The baby knows when to stop.
Generally, I know DD is done when she starts...

Re: Weaning without cow milk or soy?

<<add pureed spinach or other greens. You could probably even add a little pureed sardines. >>

Oooohhh great idea! She hasn't started on things in sauces yet; we are still on finger foods...but...

Re: Weaning without cow milk or soy?

So does anyone have advice about weaning a toddler without dairy or soy?
Or how to get baby to sleep without nursing?
I mean advice, as in "been there, done that," not random soundbites...because I...

    Re: Calling all MOMS!

We had a lot of luck with the Baby-Safe feeder but some things like bananas (well, mostly just bananas, LOL) are hard to clean out of it...

Re: Should I even be worried?

Well, you don't say whether or not YOU would like her to wean...so is it a "fear"? Wouldn't be for me personally.

Anyway, I am guessing that even if she does "give up the boob," when she sees the...

Re: Started solids at 5 mo. and red rash

The first couple of times I gave DD applesauce, she reacted the same way. I tried it again 2 months later (by accident...apples were in a mixed fruit puree) with no problems! :gvibes

    Re: Making baby food?

A blender works great for purees...I used mine when I didn't feel like lugging out the big ole food processer (OFTEN)! Just be sure to add liquid (water or breastmilk...strangely, my DD preferred...

Re: Soy and Tempeh...When is It Okay?

I personally don't do soymilk any longer because when I stopped it, my DD finally stopped projectile vomiting and farting to beat the dogs :lol....HOWEVER...plenty of kids in the US and around the...

Re: How big is too big for finger food?

We do sliced (into "circles") carrots, steamed...slices of toast (french fry shape like you said)....canned (soft & mushy) beans...steamed green beans...I give her half a banana (without skin) when...

Re: how did you do it...the dreadful sippy cup

I am wondering if maybe this would work:
Fill the sippy with mostly water, and a TINY bit of breastmilk. Just a sip. Then very gradually increase the ration of b-milk to water over a few...

Re: Soy and Tempeh...When is It Okay?

YOu already gave her tempeh, which is a soy product, and I assume had no reaction? So then I would assume soy products should be ok.

Food reactions typically come on hard and fast...you would...
  17. Re: Fast Flow and Oversupply... is it okay to start introducing Fomula suppliments?

Eventually, your baby's needs should determine how much milk you produce, but I personally felt like I was engorged until Month Six. I just had a LOT of milk. I consider that a GOOD THING! :clap...

Re: HELP!! Is it OALD and/or OS??

At the end of your post, you wonder if not enough milk is making her cry...If it's "not enough" milk, she will just keep feeding, so don't worry about that. I don't think babies care that much about...

At about the age your DC is, my DD started getting very distracted at "milkings" and so when she started fidgeting or wanted down, I would let her down. Once she started walking supported, the...
