    Re: weight concerns

Thanks sixyearplan! As tired as I am I enjoy our night time nursing sessions. When I took him to his 4 month appointment, the nurse asked if he was sleeping 6 hour stretches. When I said that he...

    Re: weight concerns

I'm usually able to pump about 4-5 ounces from the good side if it's been 4-5 hours since he's last eaten. On the side that had the abscess, I can usually only get 1-2 ounces.

    Re: weight concerns

Thanks Wandermami:) LO's pediatrician is great and very supportive of breastfeeding. I was glad that other than asking if I've noticed a decrease in supply since returning to work, he showed no...

    weight concerns

My LO was born on April 28, 2009(8 days late) and weighed 8lbs 3 oz and was 20.5" long. At his 4 month check-up he weighed 15 lbs exactly and was 25" long. The dr didn't seemed concerned but I'm...

    Has anyone tried alfalfa?

For those of you who have used alfalfa to increase supply, how much did you take? Did you need to combine it with other herbs to get results? How much of an increase did you see? I've been trying to...

    Efficient nurser?

    Hi,

I've started the process of relactating on one breast. I've been pumping and nursing on the other breast all along. I'm attempting to gradually reduce the formula supplements as I start...
  8. Re: re-lactating questions and nipple shield

I spoke too soon about the milk amount. Since the initial 1st ounce, I've only been able to get half an ounce at each pumping.:( I'm trying not to get too discouraged since this is only my second...
  9. Re: re-lactating questions and nipple shield

Using just the left side was making me quite sore. I was afraid of ending up in the same condition that I was that 1st week which sent us down a very difficult bf'ing path. He gets about 8 oz of...
  10. Re: re-lactating questions and nipple shield

Ahhh, that must be why I've read to take Fenugreek until you smell like maple syrup. :doh Makes sense now! Thanks! I'm hoping to get the right side going because relying on just the left is taking...
  11. re-lactating questions and nipple shield

Hi, I'm in the process of re-lactating(on day 2) my right breast. I had to stop bf/pumping for over 5 weeks while I healed from breast abscess surgery.(Dr's orders) I am still bf/pumping on the...

    Frustrated

I had my follow up at the breast health center today with the NP. The incision from my abscess looks fine and I can pump/nurse as long as it doesn't cause me any pain. :) So I'm starting to...

Re: New here with a few questions

He's been on the Nystatin drops since I initially started treatment. I'm not sure how effective it could be though because the little stinker clamps his mouth shut when I try to put the medicine in...

Re: New here with a few questions

Thanks for the link! I tried and was able to get a teeny tiny amount. That's probably all I could get from a pump right now anyway until I start re-lactating. Hopefully this will keep some milk in...

Re: New here with a few questions

That's a good idea. I haven't been too successful hand expressing but I could give it a try. It might be just what I need to keep the milk there without filling the breast up. The lump isn't...

Re: New here with a few questions

Thank you for the advice. I am going to try offering the right breast first like you suggested, once I know I'm making some milk. The tissue around the incision is still hard so I think I'm going...
