    Re: catching the first egg

I'm now 11 dpo, but had a question for those who chart. Since I wasn't ttc, I wasn't charting; however, I had fertile cm, a + opk, high open soft cervix, and then a drying up of everything (when I...
  2. Re: Ovulating after 21 months postpartum

Thank you, and I love the "here's Jonny" reference (shudder). :)

    catching the first egg

So, I find myself here again, having sex right before first postpartum ovulation. Last time, this resulted in a chemical pregnancy, or a very early m/c. I'm not charting yet and had vowed to wait a...
  4. Re: Ovulating after 21 months postpartum

OK, thanks :). All I'm hearing is, "remember the scene in the Shining at the elevators"? Ack!
  5. Ovulating after 21 months postpartum

If I don't get pregnant this cycle (first one since having my second child), I'm preparing myself for a heavy and painful period. That's what I've heard anyway. Is this the norm and why is it so...
  6. Re: Nursing at night causing growth delay?

Thanks. I'm sure it's not the only reason why he's small, but it might not be helping. He takes two naps/day each, about an hour or so long and nurses before each one.
  7. Nursing at night causing growth delay?

Have any of you heard this? If baby doesn't have a good amount of hours of sleep/night it can compromise growth? I guess it's not just sleeping but eating every few hours, too. My toddler is very...
  8. Re: Weaning toddler to increase weight

    Aw, thanks :)
  9. Re: Weaning toddler to increase weight

The measurements have been wonky from the beginning. He was measured 3x this last time, so I know it's right. Last visit, who knows? He's still small, but I know that's irrelevant unless he's...
  10. Weaning toddler to increase weight

My Ped has suggested doing this since my 15 month old did not grow between 12 and 14 months. He gained ounces, but no height. He is within normal range of milestones and Ped says he looks "great"...

    Re: Weird breast pain

You still could have thrush. I had that early on and the only indication was the pain you're describing. I put diluted grapefruit seed extract on my nipples and it went away. Sometimes I still feel...
  13. Does extended bfing lead to longer fertility?

Just a general question. I bfed my first for 25 months (a couple months into my next pregnancy). I had to cut way down at 19 months to ovulate for second pregnancy. I am now 38 nursing a 10 month...
  14. Re: 4.5 m.o. cycling through multiple letdowns while sleepin

    Ok :)!
  15. Re: 4.5 m.o. cycling through multiple letdowns while sleepin

I forgot to mention he's been spitting up after these nursing/napping sessions, so I'm wondering if I'm "overfeeding" him.
  16. 4.5 m.o. cycling through multiple letdowns while sleeping.

Anything wrong with having 4.5 m.o. cycle through multiple letdown s while napping? Sometimes I get engrossed with a crossword, magazine, or LLLI.org ;-) and don't notice babe still on my breast...

    Should everyone use galactogogues?

I have no reason to believe I have low supply, but my bfed babies do tend to be on the small side. Should everyone just try fenugreek, etc., to try to make the most milk possible, or is it just not...
  18. How much does baby get in a swallow?

Okay, I've always wanted to know, how much is generally swallowed by an infant when they bfeed? I try to guess how many ozs. my 4 m.o. is getting each session but I don't know the avg. amt. they...
  19. Re: How often should I be nursing 10 month old?

Oh and I dried up on the unused side within a few months :(.
  20. Re: How often should I be nursing 10 month old?

My 3 y.o. stopped nursing from my left breast at 1 yr. I have no idea why, but we weren't ready to wean so I spent the next yr with one big boobie :). Once I weaned, I was even in just a few months....

    Re: 4 month visit

He nurses every 2-3 hrs in a 24 hr period. Sometimes he can go 4-5 hrs at night if he's swaddled or on his tummy but mostly he's on his back and wakes himself up and then I just nurse him.

    4 month visit

Not again! My second child seems to be following in the footsteps of his underweight brother. At his last visit he was 24.25" and 12.10 lb (he was 7 lb at birth and gained 2 lb since his 2 month...

    Re: Is this normal?

I know as they get older they become more efficient at extracting the milk from your breast. That, and the fact that she nurses so often, is a good indicator she's getting what she needs and your...
  24. Re: No letdown after newborn sleeps 5 hours

I meant to add in my previous post, I can see how good poopy/wet diapers are not an indication of good feeding since my toddler had those and was always underweight. This baby is gaining well so I...
  25. Re: No letdown after newborn sleeps 5 hours

I have my 6 week appt. in 3 days. I'll ask Midwife abt possible thrush then. I keep going back and forth between not worrying and worrying! He just slept almost 5 hours (7-11:45 pm) and I just...
