  1. Re: Iron supplement necessary for dd?

Vitamins and whatever else you take for iron won't actually affect the amount of iron in your milk supply, so that shouldn't matter. Fluoride in the water is probably more than enough, and if they're...

Re: Eating every hour, still hungry

I wouldn't pump to get the letdown-you might encourage weird supply issues.
Here's the link to the milk supply pages.

It sounds like he is getting enough from the #s of diapers you mentioned....
  3. Re: Iron supplement necessary for dd?

You can *ask* for an iron check if you're worried about it, but the tiny bit of iron in BM is loads more useable by your baby than any supplement... My ped tried this too, but we didn't get it or...

Re: Eating every hour, still hungry

    Hang in there momma! :hug
It could just be his pattern for a while... My guy did this for a while during growth periods. I know there were days and days and weeks where I literally was feeding him...

Just dropped by to say :ita with PP :)

Here's the link to OALD info.
  6. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

Here's the page on oversupply if you wanted to read up on it more.

The best indicator of oversupply/foremilk/hindmilk imbalance is your baby's growth, fussiness and poo. Your breast is never...
  7. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

:ita with baby.mum about green, explosive poo. Here's some more info on oversupply and block feeding here.

If you scroll down to "Strategies to Slow Down the Rate of Milk Production", it has info...
  8. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

Oh, and just a heads up-my guy's poop got better after a few days, and then got worse again (even worse than before) for a few days after that before eventually completely resolving. I was told to...
  9. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

    Yay poop!

About your LC saying it's probably not dairy-my very experienced IBCLC said dairy is the most likely cause, and I'm pretty sure she knew what she was talking about. We had an accidental...

    Re: milkmaid tea

Ah, I see. I never needed to up my supply too much, but sometimes I needed a little boost :)

I just went and looked at my jar, and it says to drink it 2-3 times a day.

    Is this the stuff you...

    Re: milkmaid tea

I drink milkmaid tea, but I have the loose version (not in teabags). I don't know if it comes that way anymore. Anyway-it also has fennel and a bunch of other herbs (anise and peppermint are two)...
  12. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

I'm pretty sure beef doesn't have the culprit protein in it. Your LO may also have a sensitivity to it, but different parts of a body produce different proteins. I have beef and it has never affected...
  13. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

    Dreasmom,
I haven't had a chance to write back, but how are things going?

Milk was really really hard for me too! My mom said I wouldn't have survived childhood without cheese :yummy It took a...
  14. Re: foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or dairy sensitivity?

This could be me posting when my guy was a couple of months old!! Very eery. Ours ended up being a dairy sensitivity *and* a bit of oversupply. He had tiny bits of blood in his poo too plus green and...
  15. Re: Will this adversely affect my baby?

I heard milk thistle increases milk production... so unless you're going for that, I might try something else :)
  16. Re: DS's newest hunger cue and other nursing humor

:lol I tease DH about it all the time-'if you wake him up, you get to BF him!' DS hasn't gotten close enough to try out a latch yet though. That's hilarious :lol

    :love gummy kisses!
  17. Re: Help! Night time feedings and sleep

Oh, that last post was supposed to be encouraging. :lol Kitten on the head was easier for me than the alternative. Really :love

    Good luck momma :hug
  18. Re: Help! Night time feedings and sleep

:lol What about trying to sleep on your head like a kitten? A *25 pound* kitten??

It sounds like you had a rough day :fbhug

    Re: Feeding Duration

To find a LLL group or a leader, you can search here. To find a LC or IBCLC, you should ask your dr or local hospital. Maybe another momma knows a better way.

Yes, it is possible. Many women...
  21. Re: DS's newest hunger cue and other nursing humor

:lol It was really cute when he first got it (before the pinching), and man, he can get *serious*. Think of toddler-teeth-clenching: "mi (squeeze)- mi (squeeze)". He's like: M.I.L.K. N.O.W. It's...

    Re: Feeding Duration

It's hard to tell how full a baby is. To tell if she's getting enough, count how many diapers she has a day. If she's in throw-away diapers, you can tell if it is wet by how heavy it is. Here is a...

    Re: Need HELP!!!

I just wanted to comment about the throwing up-my DS would sometimes make himself gag because he liked the sensation, but he really only did this when he'd eaten too much. Your DS really might feel...
  24. Re: Sleeping through the night after a bottle but not breast?

I just wanted to add that I thought this was sweet :love And maybe I got a little misty eyed... Hormones anyone?
  25. Re: Help! Night time feedings and sleep

I'm sorry you're having a rough time too :hug

:ita with PP. A temporary co-sleeping set up could at least save your sanity! Or at least having the crib in the same room as you for a while...
