    Re: Thoughts on breastfeeding

I sympathize but I am also glad to see it's not only me. My husband is also an angel and never pressures me or anything, but I for myself am not happy about how it all changed. It makes me feel way...

    Re: Thoughts on breastfeeding

Ok but I'm pretty sure it's from the nursing because I have the other aspects of this hormonal difference, such as the vaginal dryness (I never had to use KY until I was breastfeeding), difference in...

    Thoughts on breastfeeding

Let me first begin by saying that I am so happy that we have made it this far with our breastfeeding relationship! We had lots of struggles in the beginning with terrible latch, tongue-tie issues,...
  4. Re: Suddenly reduced supply at 1 year old

If you are also giving solids, your supply wouldn't be the same, and that's normal. I see a decrease in my supply now too (my baby turned one this week) and I'm not trying anything to increase it...
  5. Re: '6 Months Old Now, you can do it too!'

Good ideas. Maybe I'll try it now since I'll be home with him from Tuesday through Sunday.
  6. Re: '6 Months Old Now, you can do it too!'

Hmm my baby never shows me when he's about to pee or poop, nor does he really care when his diaper is dirty. I just notice it by the smell and deal with it accordingly, but he never signals anything....

    Re: starting cereal

Actually I like giving my baby some foods that aren't able to be eaten alone: oatmeal, yogurt, soups, etc. I am not going to NOT give them so I just feed with a spoon for those times. He doesn't mind...
  8. Re: Very worried milk supply decreasing

I also thought my body was going through cycles even though I was on the minipill. Each month I'd see a decrease in supply and in the later months I'd feel a little cramping. However, I just got my...
  9. Re: '6 Months Old Now, you can do it too!'

What an interesting concept. Does it work for a baby who's already a year old?

    Re: starting cereal

My doctor also encouraged food, food, food at the 6 month visit. I only gave him oatmeal at 7 months. Fruits at 8 months. Two meals a day at 10.5 months. And three meals just recently (he's almost a...
  11. Re: 23 lb. 4 month old EBF.. Is this normal?

And I get the opposite comment. What? He's tiny! He is a year old and weighs about 19-20 lbs, but he's 30 inches tall (that part they fail to notice).
  12. Re: Period Return and Low Milk Supply

Your supply drop might not be related to your period. But it may. Six months is a common time for people to see a drop in their supply. Because you are pumping you are noticing it, but to me it...
  13. Re: I just need support *warning, semi venting*

So sorry to hear that but just to make you feel better, we ALL have these days. My baby was also tongue tied so I totally get you. Only ours wasn't diagnosed and treated until later on (he was 5...
  14. Re: Very worried milk supply decreasing

I don't either think it's your IUD, especially since you had it put in such a long time ago. Sounds hormonal to me, especially with those cramps you got. I get those too (forgot to mention it).

    Do...

    Re: Frequent Blocked Ducts

When my baby was that age I'd get soooo many plugged ducts. At least once a week. But they were mostly minor and cleared up within a few hours, max 24 hours. I learned to just ignore them because...
  16. Re: Very worried milk supply decreasing

I've heard this before, that minipill and IUDs can impact supply. However, I never really took that as a good answer because I've been taking the minipill since my 6-week visit. OP has also been on...
  17. Re: Very worried milk supply decreasing

Sounds like a hormonal shift. Did you just get your period back? Or you could be getting it now. I have these sudden drops like you describe almost every month but no period actually comes. The skin...

    Re: Joint pain

This is an interesting thread. I wonder if it has anything to do with being on the minipill? I thought my joint pain was because of that.
  19. Re: Nearly 11 mo.: distracted nurser or just nursing less

My baby is also 11 months now and doing the same. Nursing less at each feed but I'm still feeding the same amount of times as I did the previous few months. We just cut out one night feed.

  20. Re: skip out on dairy and water til one year old?

I give my baby a cup of water with a straw or without when he has a meal. The sippy cup is for when we're out of the house or when he's at the babysitter. I can't always give BM because I'm not...

    Re: pacifier?

We use one and it's a lifesaver. When I'm driving a car, for example, I cannot nurse my baby obviously. But what do I do if he cries? The paci works great for such occasions. Also it's recommended by...
  22. Re: Dr Told Me to Stop Nursing my 12 Month Old at Night

It's different for every baby and every parent. Not everyone WANTS to wake up for their child a few times a night if they could help it, when it isn't really necessary. My baby would wake up 3 times...

    Re: pump weaning advice/experiences

I'm also doing that sort of. I always pumped twice. Now with two sessions I only get enough for one bottle plus a bit more. So that's all I send along, together with solids. My baby is 11 months. By...
  24. Re: Pumping output has majorly decreased- working mom

Is your baby eating solids? Once my baby began eating solids, I was not surprised to see that I couldn't pump as much as I used to. In fact, two pumping sessions used to yeild 9 oz and now only 5-6!...

Re: Transition to solids at daycare

I only started sending real food to the babysitter with my son when he was 10 months old. I'd send 2 oz less milk (6 instead of 8) plus a 4oz yogurt. My instructions were, give only the bottle at the...
