Re: Should I try to wean now?

I definitely want to nurse with the next babe. DS had latch issues, but never seemed to when we would go to the LC. He made us out to be liars :lol I also have flat nips, so we tried the shield, but...

Re: Should I try to wean now?

Thanks so much for your input. I guess I keep worrying that I'm going to mess something up where I won't be able to bf again in May with the new baby. I know that sounds upsurd, but its just in the...

Should I try to wean now?

I was reading the last post about when some of you stop producting milk after you weaned and I'm just wondering if I should stop now or not.

Here's my brief story. I've been EPing since DS was 2...

Re: What kind of bottles/ nipples to use?

We've been using Avent and love them.

ETA: We use milk cubes from our frozen stash and they fit perfectly in the wide rim bottle. Also, I was an over producer, so the Medela 6 ounce bottles were...

    Re: milk stuck

It also may depend on your speed/suction settings. I know if I don't have a strong suction/speed, the milk just will not come out. Taking a shower beforehand really helps with my letdown. Let the...
  10. Re: how do you know what suction and speed are best?

My vacuum is set on medium & my speed is on 3. I just pumped 16 ounces and average 10 a session. I recommend olive oil on your nipples & horns prior to pumping, helps with friction!

Re: What Should Pumped Nipples Feel Like??

I vote bigger flanges as well. I had the same problem. I used the 24 mm that came with the pump and I definitely needed bigger. So, now I'm fitting perfectly in size 30 mm. Also, to cut down on...

Can you get thrush when EPing???

I don't know if this is yeast or not. Its white flaky stuff on the tips of my nipples. I can actually rub it off and it goes away. Other than this white stuff, I do not have any other symptons of...

Lecithin is from soy, its a dietary supplement and it supposedly helps with plugged ducts, but it hasn't really been helping me.

Re: Pumping in a semi-public place?

I have an AC/DC adaptor for the car and I just plug my pump in there and go for it! I pump while I'm driving, or while SO's driving too. Its super easy and sure helps on long road trips!!

Could frozen milk make him not go?

Call me crazy, but I swear everytime I feed DS frozen milk, he won't go to the bathroom. All I have to do is feed him some fresh stuff and he's good. Does the freezing process kill the component that...

Re: How much should baby be drinking?

I use it (the breast) occassionally as a comforter, but for the most part I EP.

That was my argument...how do you know how much they're getting if you exclusively nurse?

Re: Frozen BM - 24 Hour Rule - Why?

Let me add that Milk Banks do refreeze our frozen milk, BUT they also pasturize it and do all sorts of other stuff to it. With that said, what they to the milk is good for babies who get mother's...

Re: Frozen BM - 24 Hour Rule - Why?

Definitely DON'T refreeze it, but yes, put the remainder of what she didn't eat in the fridge and its okay to reheat it once more. The more you reheat, the more the delicate components are destroyed.

Does our milk change over time?

Someone told me that as the months go by, your milk becomes creamier and more substantial for the baby. Is this true? Why?
