    Thanks to everyone, this helps.
  2. Re: What if I'm not ready to wean but baby is?

Oops, meant to finish I'll pump at his bedtime and first thing in the AM on the days we are away.
  3. Re: What if I'm not ready to wean but baby is?

I typically pump 1x per day at work for 10 min. This was the week I was going to stop those sessions. We are going out of town this weekend without him. Bad timing. I'll pum
  4. What if I'm not ready to wean but baby is?

    1. My 15 month old started shortening nursing sessions (we were down to 2-3/day) a few weeks ago. This morning right after he woke up he latched for just 20-30 seconds and then popped off and went to...
  5. Re: Anxious about pump weaning (xp from 12 months)

Thanks so much littleturtlelove. I'm planning on weaning slowly - going down to 15 minutes instead of 20, dropping one session at a time. I'm nervous but excited to have some more freedom!
  6. Re: Anxious about pump weaning (xp from 12 months)

    Thanks guys. This helps.

Please share your story if you pump weaned and continued nursing at night and on weekends. I nurse my (a few days from) one year old full time Friday-Sunday, pump 3x a day and nurse in the morning...

  10. Re: How long to keep trying the bottles?

[QUOTE=@llli*mommy2lilah;1257779]Wow! 16 to 20 ounces of milk is a lot for an 8 hour day. Babies typically need between 1 and 1.5 ounces of milk per hour while away from mom.

  11. Re: How long to keep trying the bottles?

My husband started working on bottles at about 6 weeks by doing one feeding every day unless we were traveling or otherwise not at home during a feeding. By 10 weeks, our son would take a bottle, but...
  12. Re: Age appropriate feeding and sleeping

[QUOTE=@llli*goldentoes;1256917]So I think maybe it's better just to respond to baby's needs as best you can, and unless there's a problem not try too hard to mess with his rhythms. QUOTE]

  13. Re: Age appropriate feeding and sleeping

Every kid is different. When my son was 4 months, he woke at 8am, nursed, played for an hour, napped for 45 minutes, woke up, nursed, played for an hour, napped for 45 minutes, woke up, nursed,...
  14. Re: Stop pumping but still BF on demand - possible??

Thanks, mumtothomas. I like hearing these stories :)
  15. Re: Stop pumping but still BF on demand - possible??

I am hoping to do the same thing in a couple months, but am concerned about only nursing at night M-F and then not having enough milk for all day on the weekends. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Why is my baby so uncomfortable?

Have you considered using gas drops? I think the drug name is simethicone. My husband is a pharmacist, and he knows that it is not absorbed by the baby, if you are concerned about medicine/chemicals....
  17. Re: How to cope with weaning psychologically

I have read recent articles on post-weaning depression, due to changes in hormones. I am very concerned about this, as I am super sensitive to hormone changes, even though we are nowhere near...

    Re: Cow's milk introduction

^^I was going to ask pedi about this, can I give almond milk and starting when? My son is 8.5 months but I'm browsing the toddler forum, sorry. Not planning on doing it until age 1, when I'd like to...
  19. Re: Engorgement on Weekends, Pumping Just Enough During Week

    Thanks so, so much!
  20. Re: Engorgement on Weekends, Pumping Just Enough During Week

Thanks, ladies. Maybe he does not need 16 ounces. I think you are 100% correct that he is taking more than he needs from the bottle. Mommal, your explanation makes total sense.

    Mommy2lilah, I...
  21. Engorgement on Weekends, Pumping Just Enough During Week

I am frustrated and confused. I pump just a teeny bit more than enough for my 8.5 month old son by pumping at 7a, 11a and 3p Monday-Friday. We nurse at bedtime at 7, he eats at least once overnight...
