    it's definitely a supply issue because although she nurses vigorously, she isn't swallowing often. and just the day before i got over 4 oz pumping *after* a feed. so it was a big change.

  4. supplementing a preschooler

    anyone ever give a preschooler expressed breastmilk?
    do you think it would help a child with poor immunity (and minimal breastfeeding history)-- or is it really too late by then to get the benefits...

    i really dont get this recommendation. why not just have the moms take additional vitamin d? wouldn't that be the more obvious way to improve the nutrients in the breastmilk?

    by the way-- i have no idea how many wet and poopy diapers/day, i can barely tell what day it is i'm so tired. always a ton of poopy diapers. plenty of wet ones, too-- often while i am changing her...

    maybe a dumb answer...
    but when my baby won't latch sometimes it means she has a burp that needs to come out.
    try skin-to-skin and see if that helps.
    also, consider trying for much longer than 15...

    Sure, when i had high supply my first would finish nursing in 5-7 minutes. our pediatrician claims in general, babies get 95% of the milk in the first 5 minutes, and the rest is mostly comfort...

    no milk today :(

    very low milk supply for the entire day today so far.

    strangely enough, the other breast DID drip quite a bit while feeding on the other side. but i know not much milk was produced. baby didn't...
