Re: 6 weeks and losing weight

No but there's a good lc (idk if she's ibclc or not) that works with my mom at the hospital and she's gonna try to help me some if she can. She was supposed to call me today but i haven't heard from...

Re: 6 weeks and losing weight

The first weights were on a baby scale with nothing on and then i weighed her with different scales with clothes on and she weighed less. It wouldn't bother me if her diapers weren't a little looser...

    6 weeks and losing weight

If it's not one thing with us it's another and i'm really starting to lose it. My dd weighed 7 lbs 10 ozs when she was born and at her two week checkup, she weighed 8 lbs 2 ozs with breastfeeding and...

Re: Baby unable to get enough milk

I've tried the nipple sandwich and still can't get it. What makes no sense is i can get her latched on with only a little to no discomfort and no areola showing around her mouth, but my nipple is...

Re: Baby unable to get enough milk

I'm probably going to have to do that. One side only hurts when she first latches on and then it's only a little uncomfortable, but she kinda flattens the nipple so i don't think that's quite right....

Re: Baby unable to get enough milk

Plenty of wet diapers but not a lot of dirty ones. Doctors have told me that's normal though. We finally ditched the shield yesterday but now it just hurts really bad. We're working on a good latch...

Re: Baby unable to get enough milk

I have no idea how to get rid of it. I hate the stupid thing but every time i've tried to get rid of it, no matter how i tried, she just screams until i put it back :(

Baby unable to get enough milk

So after a lot of fighting and crying, we made it past the bottle preference and were doing great. Baby is 5 weeks old now and has a new problem. For the last week or so she has been wanting to nurse...
  9. Re: Is there an end to...well...endless feedings??

I'm going through the same thing with my little girl (5 weeks) only she eats for about 40 mins (20 on each breast) every 1.5 hours day and night and is still crying for more after all my milk is...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

So far she's still going without a bottle and has plenty of wet diapers. She hasn't had a dirty diaper since the morning before yesterday though. She doesn't seem to be in any pain and it's actually...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

I'll have to try some of that. She acts hungry but she won't nurse so it's hard to figure it out. It'd just be nice if she'd figure out what it is she wants a little earlier so i can get some sleep...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

Thank you all so much for the help and support! It's made all the difference! We're still going without a bottle, but still having some issues. She squirms and keeps letting go nearly the whole she's...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

I've checked the links and have been trying the things on there and have been looking into other ways to feed her. She just didn't seem to care about that tho. I finally just took the nipple off of...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

She won't nurse anymore tho so i haven't to give her a bottle so she doesn't end up dehydrated. When i made her go without her bottle her diaper count went down even tho at the time she was still...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

I tried giving her something to suck on until she calmed down but unless it was a bottle, it just made things worse. Does anyone know how to make her bottles less appealing to her? Maybe some way to...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

I've tried laying down with her but she won't latch that way for some reason. I just can't seem to get her bottle away from her. I don't know why she doesn't want anything (even breastmilk) unless it...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

We're still trying but at night it gets so hard to keep going and not hand her off to someone else to feed. She doesn't have the patience to wait for let down anymore and when i can manage to keep...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

Now she won't nurse at all. All she does is scream and hit me whether she gets any milk at all. After over an hour of that we had to give her a bottle. Her wet diaper count looks a little low too. I...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

Re: 18 days old and really need help

Ok i can do that. Sounds like it's gonna be a long few days, but it'll be sooooo worth it if she'll start nursing good again. The formula she's on is great for those who have no other option and my 2...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

So if i quit giving her bottles and just nurse, what do i do when she's emptied both breasts and still wants more? Should i just let her fuss and cry? What is the best way to increase supply while...

Re: 18 days old and really need help

She usually gets about an once after two or three feedings. I've heard people mention they use a dropper to supplement after a feeding so baby doesn't get attached to a bottle, but wouldn't the baby...
