    Re: OALD frustrations...i think

With the fussiness at the breast, have you tried burping? When my ds gets like that usually he has some bubbles in there.

I have OS/OALD, and we dealt with bouts of green poops for a long time....
  2. Re: Fussy, crying, pulling at the breast...

My ds used to do this all the time starting at around 6ish weeks. He grew out of it somewhere around 8 weeks I think. He still does it occasionally, and it's usually because he has to burp! I unlatch...

Re: What to do when away?

Hi momma! Congrats on your new baby!!

I was also in your position with ds (he's almost 12 weeks now). I wanted to start working out but felt like I couldn't be away from him for more than 30...

    Re: dark green diarrhea :(

I'm dealing with the EXACT same thing with my lo; I don't have much advice other than to not worry about it too much if he doesn't seem bothered by it. It worries me when he doesn't have "normal"...

    Re: Over eating and reflux

My guy is a little grunter too. I think it's gas related (from gulping down milk), and I try to bicycle his legs during the day. And burp him a ton. It's hard at night bc he falls asleep immediately...

    Re: Awake time?

After 2 or 3 weeks, my ds never slept well during the day unless he was laying on me or dh or if he was in the car seat and the car was moving. He's 11 weeks now, and it's the same. I just roll with...

Re: Demand feeding, how does it work?

My ds is only 11 weeks, so I'm no expert either, but I totally get where the frustration and confusion comes from. I have OS too, and just when I think I have things under control, he'll nurse like...

Re: Day 6 and milk hasn't came in

    Try not to get discouraged!

Your body is always making milk, so waiting longer to feed them will only result in hungry babies! Plus it will signal your body to make less if milk isn't removed...

    Re: Over eating and reflux

My guy is very similar too; he's 11 weeks and already double his birth weight. I have some OS/OALD issues, but he doesn't show many of those signs except lots of gas, spit up in the mornings, and...

Re: how long does it last?

Agree with everything said above! I didn't feel like I'd be able to do anything outside of the house until ds was 6 weeks...and all I did was a trip to Target. 8 weeks is when I felt more confident...
  11. Re: Urgent help re: oversupply! Advice & support required!

Sorry to hijack this thread! If your block is 3 hrs, and you feed every 2 hrs, you basically use one breast for two feedings and then switch? Or, no matter how many times you offer in that 3 hr...
  12. Re: Fussing & Fighting -- where's my sweet baby?

I don't have much advice, but I wanted to let you know my ds does this too. He's 10 weeks. When he gets like that I try to burp him. Sometimes that works and sometimes it makes him mad, but I'll let...
  13. Re: 6-week-old with bad gas and green stools at night

Lately I've been trying to burp ds during his night feedings before he falls back asleep. Usually he'll drift off still latched, so I try to unlatch him before that happens, get a burp out, and then...

    Sucking on fingers

DS will be 10 weeks on Friday, and he has good weight gain and diaper output. Lately he's been sucking his hands A LOT. I know it's a hunger cue, but usually he'll start sucking as soon as he's...

    Re: Venting about full boobs

Does it go away eventually? I have to let my initial let down spray into a diaper, so he doesn't choke and to make sure he gets the fatty stuff. It'd be nice to not have to do that anymore...

    Venting about full boobs

DS is 8 weeks old. I'm pretty sure I have an OS issue, and I've been managing it pretty well - he only nurses on one side and lately the frequency is about every 2 hours during the day. But at night...
  17. Re: Having a hard time getting baby to burp...

Usually bouncing him on my knee gets a burp. Or sitting him on my lap, suppoingrt his chin with one hand and rubbing the other hand upwards along his back. Both of those ways kind of get any air...
  18. Re: 9 weeks & still lots of poop w/ straining

How was this morning? My guy is still a grunting poop machine :-)

In the mornings he usually goes 2-3 times, and it's always loud and they're kind of watery. But then he won't go again until much...

    Re: When to pump?

The fidgeting used to happen mainly in the late afternoon, but now it's slowly happening earlier and earlier and lasting all day. If I let him do his thing he'll eventually fall asleep and let go, I...

    Re: When to pump?

Good advice! What do you suggest to do when he's fidgety and pulling? I try to burp him, then should I put him back on that side or switch? He's more likely to spit everything up from that second...

    Re: When to pump?

@mommal - that's a good point. So you think he'll learn how to work for it?
  22. Re: 9 weeks & still lots of poop w/ straining

Although sometimes when I do that he just spits everything back up (like he just did now).

Sigh. Just when you think you have things figured out...
  23. Re: 9 weeks & still lots of poop w/ straining

If it makes you feel better, my ds is the EXACT same in the morning. Around 6-630 he's grunting and wiggling around. My husband will take him and hold him against his chest, and he'll sleep til...

    Re: When to pump?

Gotcha. The reason I'm asking is because more and more my ds (7 weeks) seems restless and will pull and suck really hard at the end of a nursing session. It used to happen only in the afternoons but...

    Re: When to pump?

Sooo if pumping to build up a freezer stash you'd do it in the morning, but if you're worried about supply you'd do it later in the day?
