    Falling asleep without nursing?

I have been nursing my son from day one. He has always co-slept with my husband and I, but it is getting about time to start putting him in his own bed and finding ways to fall asleep besides car...

So, my husband, in an unstable frame of mind, took my son to his moms house for two days. I was not legally able to take him back, since that is his father, and technically he was doing nothing...

    Okay, I need some help.

My son is 15 months old. He still nurses, especially at night. He will fall asleep in the car and if my husband holds him and rocks him, he will cry himself to sleep. However, he still nurses to...

    Re: How to begin?

Oh I know...on every messageboard regarding parenting, there are going to be people who give more of their opinion than is really necessary. I have been on this board for a while, and normally I...

    Re: How to begin?

You didn't offend me at all. It was the other posts that got to me. There is a difference between offering experiences and lecturing/judging. This is the quote that really rubbed me the wrong way:...

    Re: How to begin?

Thanks! My little guy has been eating solid chunks of food since he was 6 months old, and will pretty much eat anything but broccoli. He is a very healthy boy; I'm proud that he eats so well.

    Re: How to begin?

He gets a little of everything every day. Mostly fruits, veggies and grains, but he also eats cheeses, yogurts, meats (not the nasty purees, real meat), etc. I was thinking of replacing the feedings...

    Re: 3 Month Growth Spurt?

It is probably a growth spurt. It could be the swaddling as well, but around this time babies have growth spurts. Good luck!!

    Re: Is this normal?

:lol My DH has said things like that to me as well. My son is a wiggleworm. He went through a period of time where he would wiggle the entire feeding, and try to take off all the time. I just had to...

    Re: pretending to stand

My son was bearing weight on his legs at about 1 week old. When people say that a child could become "bowlegged," they are referring to when a baby is made to stand up before they are ready either in...

I understand what you are saying. I have no intention of denying my son nursing if he really needs it. I just want the base number to go down soon. We nurse for comfort and for nutrition, and I am...

    Re: How to begin?

I have a husband that helps take care of my baby. We have never used a babysitter, because we don't need one. We spend all day with our LO, and love every moment of it. I cloth diaper, and wash them...

    Re: How to begin?

I want to cut back because 6x a day is just too much for me after a year. I work at home, and go to school part time. Cutting back to 4x a day would really help a lot, and my son would still be...

My son will be a year old in a few days. :happytears Currently, we are still nursing about 5 to 6x a day. We nurse first thing in the morning, then for each of his two naps, once in the afternoon,...
  17. Re: She grabs/claws at her ears while nursing...

:ita My LO does this too, and has been doing this for months. Our doctor says there's nothing wrong, so I think that it is either just a fidgety habit, or his ears itch sometimes. :shrug

    Re: Teething/biting

When LO would bite me, I would unlatch him, firmly say "No" and then wait a minute before latching him back on. You have to be consistant though, which was hard for me, because my LO would look just...

I started giving LO solids at 6 months, (and purees) so I think I can help on this one! My LO is 11 1/2 months right now.

  24. Re: Is there such thing as bf too much???

There is no such thing as nursing too much. This is very normal for a new baby! You are going to sometimes feel as if all you do is breastfeed, but just keep up the good work! :clap
