Re: Working moms supplementing with formula

I have found myself in this situation as well. I can only pump enough to send 12 ounces to daycare with my LO. Her weight gain hasn't been good (she is only 11.5 pounds at almost 6 months) and her...

    Re: watered down

I wouldn't do it. From what I understand, that is a bad idea (but I am no LC). Nutritionally, having 3 oz. of breastmilk and 1 oz. of water is no different than just having the 3 oz. of breastmilk...

    Re: Help! Green milk!

I get blue/green milk first thing in the morning when my breasts are big from overnight (LO sleeps all night). It freaked me out at first, but I agree that it's just the foremilk.

    Re: pumping tubes

I noticed some mold growing in my tubes and I tried to clean it, but they just enevr worked the same. They wouldn't stay attached anymore. So I just bought new ones.

    Re: Converter???

Just chiming in to agree. I bought one of these sets at BRU and use it all the time. It was $10. It is such a timesaver to pump right into the bottles.
  6. Can I use the microwave to scald my milk?

I think I may have the lipase problem... my milk always tastes funny after its been thawed out of the freezer. I have tried EVERYTHING, I use hard plastic bottles to store it, I store it in the back...

Re: Best pump in the $50-$100 range

I also have the Medela Harmony. I bought the Isis first and I HATED it. The little valve/membrane thingy kept popping out and I had to take the pump apart and put it back in place over and over. ...

How much milk do YOU send to daycare?

I know there are formulas to figure out how much milk a baby needs, but I am curious as to what people actually do.

So, how much milk do you send? How long is your LO at daycare?

    My daughter...

Re: Nurse and pump at same time?

I did this for the first time this morning. I nursed my LO in the football/clutch position, and used my Medela Harmony. It was easier than I thought it would be. My daughter is only 4 months...

I have a double pump (PISA), and I pump about 10-12 minutes and can get ~2 ounces per side pumping every 3-4 hours.

    Re: Any teachers who pump?

I am a teacher also (Middle School). I have first period off, so I pump at 9am, at 12pm (during lunch) and when school ends at 3:50. I am debating whether to hold off on that last pump and just...

    Hi ladies!
