Re: Where has the time gone?

Oh, and I am celebrating the 21 months... just sad that he is slowing down.

Re: Where has the time gone?

Egads! We had to buy him new shoes last week...and now he looks like a little boy. Where is my baby? He still nurses 3-5 times per day, but I am really having a hard time with him growing up. What am...

Re: Where has the time gone?

Thanks. I never thought it would be so hard... and he has not weaned yet! I'm allowing him to lead the weaning, so I think that influences my emotion too. I am not in control, and if he wanted to...

    Where has the time gone?

It seems like just yesterday I was excited to make it to one year. Now we're staring two down the back of its neck. 21 months of nursing this month... where has the time gone? Our nursing...

    Re: Can't Believe It

Almost 19 months here, and it seems like yesterday I was nursing my newborn. Now he can say boob, breast, nurse... kisses the boobs... it's a whole new world and a new love. :) Congratulations! :)

Poll: Re: Poll: After a year

I selected "I still bf several times a day, lo only gets minimal cow's milk, like in oatmeal," but that does not really reflect what we do. At 1 year, we eliminated the bottles slowly at daycare, and...
  8. Re: Do you have a different nationality from your child? I need your help!

    Sorry so late...

Last year, I called the US Consulate to find out about the letter, and they told me it is to cut-down on kidnapping of children across borders. My son is mixed, but I had no...

    Re: Dry morning diaper!!

My son does that sometimes too. I figure as long as he pees in the AM, he's fine.

Your bm is fluid enough if you are nursing through the night. No need for water if your lo doesn't want it, IMO,...

    Re: Too Frequent night feeds

I have been transitioning my 16 month old to his own bed. We use bedrails and then pillows everywhere the rail isn't except the bottom, so he can slide out if he needs to (he's quite tall for his...
  11. Re: Help. Feeling down... need encouragement!

Sorry for the lack of an update. He wants nothing to do with that pacifier during the night other than to hold it as he falls asleep. Now he likes it to bit on during the day though, which I suppose...
  12. Re: Help. Feeling down... need encouragement!

Ack. Last night was WORSE! He actually bit me in his sleep even-- for just the third (?) time since he was born. I bought a pacifier at lunch. I'm going to give it a try, but he has bucked it so...
  13. Re: Help. Feeling down... need encouragement!

I've been thinking about trying a pacifier, but I have to tell you. He has never taken one, and I have tried to get him to take it at various points throughout his short life. Each time he resists....
  14. Help. Feeling down... need encouragement!

The Boy is 16 months, and he is cutting his last eye teeth and a molar, and I am having a hard time. We co-sleep and nurse, which some nights right now means sleeping with him attached to my breast...
  15. Re: Thoughts on pumping at this point...

I pumpweaned around 12 months (a little after), and when we are apart, The Boy gets water and only water. We nurse on demand when together, and there is no way in all this world I would start pumping...

Re: how long did you nurse

The Boy will be 15 months in 10 days, and we are still going strong. I usually just ignore most criticism, and sometimes I use witty comebacks-- like "he's a boob man, what can I say?" Oddly enough,...

Re: It's Official But Is This Normal?

My son is now 14 months, and I have been 'pump free' for a little over two weeks. He seems to be getting what he needs when we are together. He nurses when I pick him up at 5, again around 630, once...

Re: Nursing past a year and why?

The Boy is just 14 months, but I have a variety of answers. My recent favorite-- he's not ready or what can I say? He's a boob man.

Re: At work a patient told me my milk...

I actually stopped reading What to Expect for the First Year due to the anti-breastfeeding bias that came out after month six (I think that's about when it was). The book pissed me off and poor...

Re: At work a patient told me my milk...

If I didn't know her so well to know that she genuinely was/is innocent when it comes to nursing and wanted to know the truth, I probably would have.

Re: At work a patient told me my milk...

A few weeks back, I went to dinner with a friend (no kids yet) who asked me if my milk was "still good" because she had heard conflicting information. I can't believe people spread that crap around!!!

Re: LO won't take a bottle

My son never would take a pacifier. I completely gave up trying after four or five months. He also hated the bottle, but when I went back to work (he was 9 months), he was forced to take it... kind...
  23. Re: Why you should always have a bigger bottle...

I bought a pack of bags for my desk drawer after forgetting (MORE THAN ONCE) the LIDS to the bottles. I used to just have a few in my bag, but this way I always have them. LOL!

Re: Pumping as baby gets older?

I thought I was going to pump wean at 1, and The Boy is now 13 months, and I am down to 2 sessions, but I intend to keep those up for a while, because I don't want to give him any other milk, but I...
  25. Re: Working, pumping, & finding time to excercise

Flexing your abs while sitting with good posture actually helps some. It's not as good as a real crunch, but it still helps.
