So progress has been made in the sleep department!! LO (now 12mos) nurses to mostly sleepy, then will start fussing UNTIL I deposit him in crib :yikes ( :clap ). And... I discovered that he's...

Re: Can't do this anymore! Need help!

We did the Pantley No Cry Sleep solution with my lo (now 12 mos) -- we were cosleeping up until 10 or 11mos, and he was nursing at least every hour. We successfully transitioned to crib sleeping in...

    When to Introduce Cow's Milk?

LO is 12mos now, and DH asked about when we were going to start giving him cow's milk. Is there any documentation on introducing it do LO's diet? We've already started him on homemade yogurt, which...

    Re: Night feedings

My 11mo LO's nighttime nursing sessions have been similarly brief lately. I was also told to cut out the nighttime nursings... but have not done so b/c I figure... we are nursing on demand...and if...

    Re: new feeding? biting?

When my LO bit -- I just pulled him in closer to the breast (smooshing his face in) -- instinct will make him let go and open his mouth. If you pull away, the reflex to chomp down more engages. We...

Re: Can you over feed when EBF???

Agree with PP -- mine started out in 70th percentile, then over the first few months eased down into the 30th or 40th percentile. And he nursed ALL THE TIME. lol. ;)
  7. Re: Ways of Nurturing/Comforting for Dad

Nothing you'd call success yet. We've had some luck distracting LO with the kitties and the piano...but those aren't really helpful for nighttime. I have a friend who was able to get DH to put LO...
  8. Re: Ways of Nurturing/Comforting for Dad

Thanks for the ideas. I think we'll try naptime and the post-nursing in bedtime routine... LO doesn't use pacis so that's not gonna fly :(.

Interesting part is incorporating pottying into this....

    Re: Just an odd question.

You could always do nonalcoholic beer to ease your mind :) ...And yes, I've heard that before.

    Re: Night weaning.

Good luck! let us know how it goes.... I'm trying to get my LO to be ok with Daddy lovins at nighttime but we're still stuck on the whole nursing bit too. I'm ok with that since he's only 10mos,...
  11. Ways of Nurturing/Comforting for Daddy

So, we're in the process of helping LO sleep longer at night (and in his own crib, not cosleeping anymore :cry :clap). We've been trying the Pantley method (well, kinda!), and so far, it seems to be...
  12. Re: Distracted 4 mo eats all night long

Do you have a baby carrier? Nursing while babywearing can help them focus, and you can do it during the day no matter where you are at -- home or out.

Re: do I have enough milk??

:nod agree with PP. And if babywearing indoors doesn't work -- take a short walk outside while wearing LO. It usually settles them down :)

    Re: Nursing to sleep

You might look into the Pantley no-cry sleep solution book. It discusses how to deal with some of the concerns you've mentioned in a gentle and compassionate way. We're on day 3 of doing it right...

Re: 1 year and question about milk

I'd look into other types of milk. Also, there are plenty of people who don't have milk at all...so nothing says you HAVE to add cow's milk to your diet :)
  18. Re: yellow milk on the breast i don't fe

"At other times, the milk may take on different tints of color.. This can be in relation to something mom has eaten or a...

Re: do I have enough milk??

He may be sleepy, tired, etc or just needing comfort. How's diaper output? That's the best way to gauge whether he's getting enough milk. :)
  20. Re: 7 M- issues w/bottle, food, & milk s

  23. Re: 7 M- issues w/bottle, food, & milk s

We skipped the bottle entirely and went to sippy cups. LO hated bottle. He loves his sippy cup. But practice with it when he's not hungry, kwim? That way he can get the hang of it.

    Have you...

    Re: Diarrhea and food sensitivity?

It can take a full month for dairy to get out of your system....so while it may be there is a dairy issue, you haven't given it enough time. The best way to tell is to have wheat/fish again, see if...
