  1. Re: Question for Moms who are supplementing.....

Thanks ladies. There is a certain guilt to thinking about all of this. I think the stress in general is affecting my let down with pumping, thinking about supplementing, etc. I just spoke to a friend...

My LO is almost 7 mos old. I can't keep up with the bottles I need for the sitter with pumping. Although I have a nice stash in the freezer, I am running low. So, before I make myself completely...

  5. Will pumping more at work affect what LO is getting at home?

Does this question make sense? I typically pump twice at work (during the times he is eating at the sitter, which is 2-3 days per week). My let down is much slower, but I have found pumping both...

Re: Could my 6 mos old be weaning me?

Thanks for the note. He seems better to me today.

He drinks bottles fine with the sitter. He just loves to be fed. He's already figuring out how to drink out of a cup - he actually obsessed with...

Re: Could my 6 mos old be weaning me?

    A few things to add:

BM is his primary source of nutrition. The amount of cereal, fruit & veggies he gets are very small and have never "replaced" a nursing session.

    The fussiness from what I...

Could my 6 mos old be weaning me?

  9. Got my period today, should I be preparing for any changes with BF'ing?

My LO is 6 mos old. Just woke up to my first period since becoming pregnant. A part of me is happy as I will hopefully know my schedule again. Another part of me is sad and worried. Will this affect...
  10. Re: Trouble with Letdown on one side when pumping....

Any other suggestions out there? I feel like my surroundings at work aren't any different from the days when I letdown more easily.

    Thanks,

Not "letting down" when pumping - HELP

For some reason I am not letting down when pumping. I only have to pump three days a week - twice each day while at work. Otherwise I'm exclusively BF'ing. It started with just my left breast, so I'd...
  12. Re: Trouble with Letdown on one side when pumping....

Thanks. This afternoon I just pumped both together and that seemed to work a little better. My LD is just taking more time with the pump these days.

  13. Trouble with Letdown on one side when pumping....

I've tried looking at pictures of baby, etc. It seems to be only when I'm pumping. The right side always lets down pretty quick - within 1 minute or so. The left side takes almost 5 min sometimes....

    Re: Frozen BM Questions.....

Where can I find info on scalding? Also, as long as LO doesn't complain, all should be fine, right? I would think if it tasted bad, he'd let me know.

Good idea on alternating fresh and freezer...

  19. Re: 3.5 mos old boy, approx 16-17 lbs, how much?

Yes, I have a #1 nipple on the bottles. Yes, he is a little porkchop and I'm not worried about enough as I am too much. We tried doing 4.5 oz-5 oz spread out over 2.5 hours versus 3 hours this week...

    Re: Bottlefeeding and milk supply...

I brought up this same question last week. Yes, I believe they scarf down more from a bottle at times. They have security at the breast and suck to sooth - really can't do the same with a bottle.

  21. 3.5 mos old boy, approx 16-17 lbs, how much?

Do you still use the average of 2.5 oz per pound? If so then my son needs WAY more than I'm giving him - which is enough as he is a big healthy and chunky little monkey. Is it better since he's...
  22. Re: Baby is almost 3.5 mos and drank 6oz bottles today...I'm worried about my supply

one more question - would it help if I give both breasts at each feeding? He's typically been a one breast at a time feeder.

    Thanks,
    Nanc
  23. Re: Baby is almost 3.5 mos and drank 6oz bottles today...I'm worried about my supply

Thanks for the info. Would it help if he ate more often - say every 2.5 hours with 5 oz so he gets in like 6 feedings a day versus every 3 hours with 6 oz where he only gets 5 oz?

    Nancy
  24. Baby is almost 3.5 mos and drank 6oz bottles today...I'm worried about my supply

Last week he was at 4 - 4.25 and today he drank 2-6oz bottles at the sitter. For some reason today at work, I was only able to pump about 3oz from my L side and I usually am able to get 4 oz each...
