  1. Re: Cosleeping and nursing = compromised immunity?

For a long time I didn't feel tired, auderey. Or at least, just normal-tired! But these last few months I've been absolutely whipped, and sometimes when she nurses I think, I just don't have it in...
  2. Cosleeping and nursing = compromised immunity?

My DD is 17mo. We've always coslept and she still wakes up most nights 3-5x times to comfort nurse herself back to sleep. I've been sick--not colds, but flattened in bed for at least 24 hrs at a...

Anyone else have "mommy hand" ?

So I thought I was getting basal joint arthritis in the base of my thumbs, like my mother has, but doc said it's likely tendonitis in those tendons, called de Quervain's syndrome or "mommy hand." It...

Re: When did you stop pumping?

Oh, good call. I remember YDS hated and hates cow's milk. I nursed him till he was 2 and he never drank cow's milk!

    Yeah, she's nursing 3-5x. Or 5-7x. Chunky-muffin! :love

    When did you stop pumping?

I've BF my DD for one year and 9 days now :clap. I nurse her in the morning and in the evenings, and often during the night (we cosleep). I just pump once a day at work, since I'm a teacher and can't...
  9. Re: Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

I didn't even know this existed. Thank you, Tracie!
  10. Re: Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

    Thank you, checking it out!
  11. Re: Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

No endoscopy as of yet. The doc mentioned it last time; it may be time, I guess.

Yes. Coffee and I have broken up. It's over. We're done.
  12. Re: Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

    Called who now?
  13. Re: Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

No, no. I've stopped drinking coffee. It's only recently gotten this bad.
  14. Re: Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

Yeah. I'm WAY beyond that. It helps somewheat with the pain to take Tums, but my throat needs helps. Probably serious help.
  15. Terrible GERD (in mommy!) and need meds. Must I stop BF?

My throat burns, my esophagus burns. It's from coffee. When I was on maternity leave from Nov. - late Feb. with her I drank quite a bit, and over the summer when I was off from teaching I drank quite...

    Re: I hate feeding her!

Are you normally sensitive to touch anyway? I have kind of a low tolerance for overstimulation, like the TV being too loud, the room being too hot or cold--I don't handle those things well. If you're...

    Re: Ahhhhhhhhh....

Oh my yes. I have a hospital grade pump I rented but I leave it at school (I teach). There's a little hand pump in there that I WILL be keeping with me AT ALL TIMES from now on!

    Traffic never...

    Re: All night nursing

It may get better, but then it may get worse again, just saying. DD is now 9.5mo and wants to nurse off and on all stinkin' night. I have given up even trying to start her in her pack and play. It's...
  20. Re: LO doesn't want bottle from sitter during day--help?

She will drink some water, and that's it. She eats almost all solids but I could have the sitter up her baby food intake so she could mix the bmilk with it. That's a good idea.

    Sitter tried the...
  21. LO doesn't want bottle from sitter during day--help?

I'm a teacher, so I got to BF all summer. I didn't even pump, not once. It rocked.

Well, now LO is 9mo old. I've been back at work for 2w now, pumping on my prep hour. She took the bottle...
  22. Re: What weird things make your milk let down?

Yawning! How funny! I had to wear pads the entire time I nursed DS #2 (22 mo.) and I will the entire time I nurse DD now! Milk spots from letdown during biology class = not good!
  23. What weird things make your milk let down?

Thinking about DD certainly does, even when we're apart. Sometimes thinking of my two older, weaned boys makes them let down (mommy response!). But also when something makes me laugh, often it'll let...

    That. Was. Wonderful!

Today is the second-to-last day of school and I've been running low on pumping milk for the sitter. I had two to give her today but DH took the baby so on my prep hour I ran it out to her, a 12-mi...
  25. Re: Is she really HUNGRY? Or just wanting comfort? (Or both)

She isn't in bed w/me, but she's in a little cosleeper RIGHT next to me. Our heads are like a foot apart. (Although, I've been falling asleep nursing her the last couple of nights, so we're...
