    Re: Starting to Wean

Nice going mama! I had the same story, I weaned my 4 YO after his brother was born and almost one. He enjoyed the increased milk but in the end was ready to be done. :love
  2. Re: No more booby for my 2 year old! My husband is brilliant

Yikes, I wouldn't lie about an injury to take nursing away cold turkey, but to each their own.
  3. Re: Leaky Lansinoh storage bags -- anyone else have this iss

I second the vote for Honeysuckle! I switched after almost 2 years of pumping and wish I'd have found them sooner.

    Re: Concerned This isn't working

Good luck mama, nothing in your OP suggests lack of supply to me. You said weight gain is fine so if you are totally freaked you can count diapers during a 24 hour period, make sure he has 5-6 wets....
  5. Re: Pumping at night? What am I doing wrong?

FWTW I personally would cut the 10 pm session, move to a 1am session and see how that works. I couldn't have gone that long and kept my pumping supply up long term, of course both my kids nursed all...

Re: 3 week old questions - Growth spurt??

If she is transferring milk ok, its unlikely that she'd stop doing so in a day. More likely a growth spurt, or I say this gentle...no problem at all just a fussy day. Try not to worry about how...
  7. Re: Pumping at night? What am I doing wrong?

I agree with the pp, the daycare is overfeeding him hugely. They ate using formula rules and that just doesn't apply. However that said, at this age you should still keep that 2 am pump session in...
  8. Poll: Re: Medela Freestyle vs. Pump In Style - which do you prefe

I liked my PISA, I always hear about the Freestyle burning out faster :shrug
  9. Re: Talking to my 3 year old about weaning

Dara I think she will get the permanence,,although Max did mention that he was gonna wean at 4 and start nursing again at 5  I wouldn't expect though for the baby to decrease M's nursing...

    Re: partial thaw

No sorry mama. You can thaw it and cook with it though instead of wasting it
  11. Re: Talking to my 3 year old about weaning

We ended up with a weaning party largely because I was starting to resent nursing a 4 YO, prior to that we did cut way down and set a lot of boundaries largely because I was tandem nursing. We spoke...

    Re: Period??

I also felt PMS symptoms for a long time before my period actually returned. I noticed no dip in supply, not every mom does, but if that happens it is usually temporary and you can take a calcium...

    Re: Skinny Baby, Worried Mommy

Agree, at this point I personally don't think there is a need to supplement. Your baby seems healthy. Fat babies don't equal healthy.
  14. Re: Green watery (foul) stool and on demand feeding

Mostly agree but the foul smell makes me wonder about a dairy allergy.

    Re: Skinny Baby, Worried Mommy

Hi mama. A drop in weight can be upsetting and our first instinct is to feed feed feed, but it may not be necessary. If your other child followed this pattern, it may well be that being thin, is a...

Re: help! about to give up...

Your pumping output is on the low side but still in the normal range especially because you are nursing as well. Weaning off formula supplements will make your body increase production.

Re: help! about to give up...

I respectful disagree, if you a re weaned from the shield going back on is not a good idea. Shields are bad for production. So a pound in four weeks basically. Ok what about the diaper output? ...

Re: help! about to give up...

You are right, formula is not the best option. Hugs mama, you can do this! Some more info...what was baby's lowest weight? We need to measure weight gain from lowest weight not birth weight. Also...

    Re: confused about pumping

Hello. Yes you need to pump for every missed feeding especially with baby still so young. A bottle at night may seem great but it means your body is signaled to make less milk than baby needs to...

    Re: Sudden green poop ...

I agree with mommal. This is weird but almost a non issue as long as baby is ok. Personally instead of a sudden oversupply, I'd bet that baby, if he was ill, was just not taking as much while sick.

    Re: Questions regarding pumping.

Are you nursing at all? I'm just worried that this nursing break will result in baby having a preference for bottles and you with low supply. What is your thought on getting baby back to breast...

    Re: Bottle Choices?

Slowest flow nipples and whatever brand of bottle baby will take! My first took whatever and the second was so picky but we ended up with Breastflow.

    Re: Daycare rant

I spoke with my provider just now. She confirms that it's untrue. What she said is that the provider gets 95 per month to menu plan a BF baby if there a full day, breakfast, lunch and snack. There...
