    Re: baby-led gagging?

My baby was doing that at 6 months old, so we had to hold off for a few more weeks. We then started with pureed asparagus and it went quite well. Hang in there.

My LO will be 9 months next week and he still prefers the boob. We are also still using the slow flow #1 bottles.

    Re: Variety

Just do what you guys are comfy with (as mentioned)... My baby is 8 months old, and we started solids at 1 week before 6 months, but he wasn't ready so we waited another 2 weeks and then he was more...

Re: Working moms, when do you nurse?

I agree with everyone - you will adjust and find your own schedule and what works for you guys... it was a good month or two till we learned what worked for us, which is as follows:

    5:15 - baby...
  5. Re: Very long Thread, but I am desperate please help!

I second what Molly says about semi (or fully) reclined. It helped us with soreness and a heavy let-down to not have gravity pulling down even more. Try facing each other laying down and feeding...

Re: Thawed BM + Fresh BM?

I do that when I have to dip into my frozen reserves... otherwise my baby isn't a big fan. The same rules apply though, that the thawed milk has to be used within 24 hours of being thawed!

Re: Explaining I left my job for baby

Another suggestion would be that you left "to tend to family." No one could ever be faulted for something like that... if they have questions about it, they can ask your during your interview. :) ...

Re: best bottle to avoid nipple confusion??

I found that my baby had to pick his own bottle...I had Avent, Dr. Browns and the playtex nursers... to this day, he still uses the playtex nursers (slow-flow). He rejected the Avent and the Dr....
  9. Re: Growth spurt?? Will I get my good sleeper back??

Stephanie - first of all, congrats on her weight - she has come a really long way! :) :)

It does sound like just a growth spurt - I'm still new at motherhood, but every few months, we have...

    Re: earlier frozen BM

I wouldn't necessarily toss out the milk - it's still going to be great for him. My baby doesn't like the taste of frozen milk, so what I do (and maybe this would work for you too for other reasons)...

    Re: Pain forever?

Many kudos to you for not quitting... Your experience sounds identical to mine! It is pretty excrutiating, BUT it gets better!

Some of the things that I did, which helped immensly:

    Re: Do you eat enough?

I felt like I didn't eat at all the first 2 months, but since then, I'm eating about every 2-3 hours (kind of like a nursing schedule). And I cannot for the life of me skip a meal... It feels like...

Re: (Dual post) HELP!! Is it Possible...

My child naturally did this while I work - he nursed (and sometimes still does) every 2-3 hours when I'm not at work and then when I'm at work, he'll only take 10-12 oz of food during a 7 hour...

Re: Baby not drinking all the milk I pump!

Re: Where do you pump at work?

What is your work-space like? I work in a cubicle, so I made a curtain to put by the entrance with a BIG sign telling people to back away if the curtain was closed... one person didn't and opened it...

    Re: A question on pumping

I've been pumping for several months now, and I really only get what my ds takes while I'm working - I usually only ever get 4-5 oz at a time (that is the first one in the morning and I used to get...

Re: 5 month old acting strange

It could be a few things... gas, teething, or an ear infection... or even reflux - they didn't discover that my baby had reflux until he was about 6 months old. Maybe try some teething tablets...
  22. Re: pumping and nursing together - timing & supply

I'm a working mom and the way we started building a supply was to pump after Dylan's first morning feeding. Pretty much that was the only time I pumped while I was on a 3-month maternity leave and I...
