  1. Re: Agressive ductal thrush - now on the other side?

I can't. It's just too painful. I'm covered in cabbage and ice packs now. Nothing left to do but wait it out over night and take my next dose. Right now I can only nurse on the left breast, which...
  2. Re: Agressive ductal thrush - now on the other side?

Yes. It is not how I pictured our nursing relationship going, or ending. I'm very broken up about it needless to say. As nice as you all are here and as wonderful as my husband and family are, there...
  3. Re: Agressive ductal thrush - now on the other side?

He's going to be, apparently the pharmacy is out but will have the stuff tomorrow.

Haven't nursed since 7am on the right side, and the nipple/areola is too swollen to fit in his mouth. Right...
  4. Re: Agressive ductal thrush - now on the other side?

I really don't know at this point. I had four courses of heavy antibiotics to essentially no effect and am now trying the thrush treatment route. But nothing has really changed yet. Nobody can figure...
  5. Agressive ductal thrush - now on the other side?

    Well, I'm back.

I'm the one with the recurrent mastitis (?) on the left side that came back after 4 rounds of antibiotics. It eventually cleared after we saw an LC and I added some suppliments...

    Update!

Hello everybody! I just wanted to come back and give you all an update. I had been dealing with recurrent mastitis (?) breast and nipple pain, possible ductal thrush, lots of issues. Well, I am proud...

    Re: Vasospasm from nipple trauma

I liked the Pumpin' Pals flanges. I think I know what you are describing. I was using the Medela standard flanges and the angle of the flange definitely makes a ring or lump there on the areola. Give...
  8. Re: Exclusively Breastfeed to Six Months

I am cracking up at the asparagus and kimchi! Yum... Though, I just tried asparagus today and mine was...less than enthusiastic about it!

Can you just picture, somewhere in a University dining...

    Re: The continued adventures...

I know, you're probably right. I guess, post-illness, post-antibiotics, I just feel really empty. I realize that they don't have to fill up to have anything in them, and they are a continuous supply...

Re: Is this a plugged duct??

That sounds like it might be a swollen lymph node, to me anyway. How do you feel, besides that? Any cold coming on? Either way, you can put a hot pack on it to help.

    Re: The continued adventures...

Thank you! It was actually one my hubby took, and it's on his chest, so I hope people don't look too closely and see all that chest hair and think, oh my, she's got hormone problems... LOL.

    Re: The continued adventures...

Thankfully, I am lucky enough to stay home for the foreseeable future. I was just wondering if I should be pumping to get my stash/supply back up. :)

    The continued adventures...

So, we had the tongue-tie clipped about a month ago. I had a fifth bout of mastitis about a week or so after that (missed tickets to a show and everything, boo) and treated it with a ten-day course...
  14. Re: 4 month old fussy during feeding...h

So, ok, I am trying to do the math in my head here... He was 8/10 at around 4 weeks old, and 10/6 at around 8 weeks old, yes? (Trying to convert weeks to months for my chart here...) Then 11/6 on...
  15. Re: DD is pinching and scratching my che

I think I may just have to get a mommy necklace. I try to distract him, but he just loves to knead and massage and pinch and... lol.
  16. Re: Breastfeeding After Breast Reduction

I also had a reduction ten years ago and have dealt with similar issues. Definitely check out the BFAR forums, though they are much slower than these here. I never feel letdown when I nurse, and have...
  17. Re: Should I give up on breast feeding?

I have no advice, just hugs and encouragement. :hug Whatever you choose to do, you have given your baby what you could do, and nobody could find fault with your dedication. Good luck!

    Re: Hit a wall.

No visible bleb or blister; Doc thinks it may be MRSA related. Urgh! You're right, I shouldn't make a decision until I have a plan in place. I used to say I BF because it is cheap but now I think...

    Re: I think hes thirsty!

    I don't think that's mean; I think that's being a good parent.

I do not let my child around anybody who cannot follow my rules. Doesn't matter if they are related by blood or marriage. It's a...

Re: Thrush for three plus months

I'm so sorry, that must be so frustrating and painful. Your pediatrician sounds misinformed, so don't be afraid to fire him and get a new one! Or at least, a second opinion. I'm also shocked that...

Update! We've been clipped! Bubs was such a trooper and he was right back into daddy's arms and onto my breast right afterwards. I think I was more traumatized than he was. Here's hoping that things...
