  1. Re: Full Term Breastfeeding Friendly OB/GYN

I interviewed some OBs before deciding. The first one was absolutely horrible and I knew about 2 minutes into the interview that she was NOT it. The second one was awesome. Just go down the list...
  2. Re: Long, sorry! My 14mo is reverse weening.

I was in a similar situation a few months back. I'm a SAHM, always nursed him to sleep, he was constantly latched on while sleeping, my back was killing me, etc. My son (13 months) now sleeps...

Thank you for replying! I waited to get the abx, kept nursing, prayed, and the redness is gone this morning! :clap

    Is this mastitis, yet?

Yesterday I noticed the clogged duct--red spot on breast, hard/lumpy bump.

I've been doing everything I always do to clear it: tons of water, lecithin, vitamin c, rest, heat, massage, etc. Took...

    Re: Mastitis at 13 months...

I have the exact same thing happening! My 13 month old son won't stay on long enough. Earlier today I noticed a red spot underneath my right breast and a little discomfort. We've been nursing at...

    Re: subclinical mastitis

    update for ultrasound results!

It's just a cyst! Whew! My doctor said it's probably just filled with milk and is not something to worry about--not going to drain it or anything because it could...
  7. Re: Lansinoh good until expiration date if opened?

    Great! Thanks!
  8. Lansinoh good until expiration date if opened?

I haven't used my Lansinoh since my son was born 8 months ago. It hasn't reached the expiration date. Is it still fine to use?
  9. Re: What does the red line with mastitis look like?

Yes, my doctor has been very supportive of breastfeeding and seems knowledgeable. He even said that he refers to a very conservative breast surgeon, if we end up needing that.

    Thanks for the...
  10. Re: What does the red line with mastitis look like?

Thanks for all of the responses.

My doctor thinks that the painless lump that isn't going away is a fibroadenoma, and we're doing the ultrasound to confirm.

The red line and red patch is on...
  11. Re: What does the red line with mastitis look like?

Yes. I went to the doctor this morning, getting a breast ultrasound tomorrow.

I had a previous post about a lump not going away.

All I'm interested in is what the line associated with...
  12. What does the red line with mastitis look like?

I can't find any pictures. I know you don't always see a line, but if you do is it a straight line, curvy, what?

    Thanks!

    Re: subclinical mastitis

I actually love my doctor. Technically, I saw his nurse practitioner--she's not my favorite. I'll just wait until next week and see how things go (unless DS has a reaction to the antibiotics).

    Re: subclinical mastitis

Thanks for the reassurance! I hope this is a clogged duct. Iam hating the antibiotics--our pee smells awful, and DS seems a bit cranky (could be in my head).

LOL--going around to all the appts...

    Re: subclinical mastitis

Yea, if the lump isn't gone by Tuesday I'll definitely get an ultrasound.

Just found out my grandmother had fibrocystic breasts--wondering if this could be a cyst that was behind/under the clogged...

    Re: subclinical mastitis

Last week I had a large clogged duct, very sore, skin was red, but no fever. The lump got a lot smaller, but it's still about a centimeter after a week, so I called my OB. Went in, they felt it and...

    subclinical mastitis

    What is subclinical mastitis?

Is it the same as low-grade mastitis? If not, how do they differ?

I can't find much info. on the internet, so thanks in advance if you know anything!

    Re: Clogged duct-lump 4 a week

I've decided to hold off on the antibiotics, but I have one problem. I'm scheduled for a follow-up with the NP on Tuesday. If I start the antibiotics Friday will that give them enough time to work...

    Re: Clogged duct-lump 4 a week

Thank you for replying! I think I'm going to wait a few days before starting the antibiotics.

I'm glad to hear you had a similar experience--makes me feel reassured :hug

    Clogged duct-lump 4 a week

    Hi,

Last Wednesday (11/3), I woke up with a very large clogged duct on the bottom side of my right breast. The mass was about an inch in diameter, and the skin was red and indented. I nursed my...
  21. Anyone used Metrogel for BV while BFing?

I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced bacterial vaginosis while breastfeeding. If so, did you use Metrogel? Kellymom and a few other places say it should be safe, others say it's not. How...
