    Re: cow's milk? vegan mommies?

Sounds great! I can probably get veganomicon from the university library to give it a look over. I think our biggest problem is that DH is very picky and I can't cook anyhow, so alot of stuff gets...

    Re: cow's milk? vegan mommies?

Thanks! I'll look at these. Right now I'm not working and DH is in school so money is a little tight. I can buy wonderful local veggies, etc., but none of the specialty vegan things I'd like to...
  4. Re: Coworkers can't read "Do no enter" sign???

My LO is 17 months. I was working and pumping until July of 07. Then I began working closer to home and less hours so I could nurse him more AM and PM. I stopped pumping altogether.

    Now he's...

    Re: cow's milk? vegan mommies?

I personally think that very processed and chemically treated foods may be worse than meat, dairy, or anything else. Especially our water supply!

    Re: cow's milk? vegan mommies?

I would like to find an online vegan forum for parents but I haven't found anything that is user friendly, like this forum, or AllRecipes.com!

I really need some ideas for main dishes. I...
  10. Re: Coworkers can't read "Do no enter" sign???

I guess on the one hand, we should be happy that pumping doesn't seem to bother some of these people. Although it's private to most of us....at least they're not terribly offended!

    The "do not...

  12. Re: How much meat does/did your 1 year old eat a day?

  13. Re: How much meat does/did your 1 year old eat a day?

I keep reading that beans are a choking hazard. For how long should parents hold off on giving non mashed beans to little ones??

    Re: signing for milk

My LO didn't really respond to signing, but he makes a "tick tick" sound with his tongue when he wants to nurse, wants milk, or a pacifier. He claps his hands for food!
  17. Re: A cracker that doesn't have sugar?

How about a cookie recipe? Anyone have a good healthy one? LO loves those banana shaped ones from the store. And my oatmeal cookies. He's actually saying "cookie cookie", still doesn't say...

    Re: Wheat Germ

I found some good suggestions about wheat germ in the Super Baby Food book.
I add it to yogurt, cereal, pretty much anything...

I use about 1-2 tsp at a time.

I also make balls out of sweet...
  21. Re: Frozen fruits/veggies becoming slippery

Thanks for the link. I have been able to successfully dredge veggie balls, etc. but when I try to dredge this overly wet fruit, the dredging turns to mush and falls off of the fruit by the time it...

Re: Typical 1 year old diet?

I noticed that the Super Baby Food book suggests grinding up seeds/nuts and using them in porridges. That may help add fats.

Maybe sunflower seeds, walnuts, etc. I'm not sure which ones are lowest...
  23. Frozen fruits/veggies becoming slippery

I have been steaming pear slices (I cut the fat part of the pear in thin rounds), and apple chunks, and yellow squash rounds and zuchinni chunks, then freezing them.

I then take them out the night...
