    Recurring Thrush

This is at least the 4th time I have had thrush with my son and it is getting to be an issue. The first time I did homeopathic treatments (consumed garlic gloves, used gentian violet, used this...
  2. Nearly 4 month old refusing right side.

Hi. Back with yet another problem.

I visited a lactation consultant a week and a half ago and she told me that we both have/d thrush. Today is the last day of his nystatin treatment, and who knows...

Re: I'm about to give up, seriously

It is really hard! While SO isn't working anymore, the thing is, he's still going to school and is applying and being interviewed all the time. While he's home sometimes, he also needs his sleep and...

Re: I'm about to give up, seriously

But that's just it. If he could, he'd do it all day and it's so very hard for me to balance nursing while trying to wrangle my 18 month old. I'm home alone all day and don't have family that can come...

Re: I'm about to give up, seriously

Also, another thing that's been worrying me: He'll fall asleep at the boob and I do wake him up about 2-5 times per feeding to burp him, but then ... after I remove him upon him not sucking anymore,...

Re: I'm about to give up, seriously

Yes! I am. Thing is, when I even -try- block feeding, he doesn't get enough from one boob. I'll leave him there, I'll wake him up, he'll quit nursing, or nurse forever ... and then it's not enough....

I'm about to give up, seriously

I really, really am. I've never had such issues with nursing, nor have I ever wanted to just throttle a baby (though I haven't) more.

He cries and screams ALL DAY LONG. Nothing makes him happy,...

Re: Funny suctiony noise while nursing?

I had his primary care doctor check and he said that he had "mobility" of his lips and tongue on both sides and that there was no tie ... but I look at it and to me, it looks like an upper lip tie.

    Funny suctiony noise while nursing?

Hi, guys. Sorry to bug you again! I just thought I'd update and babble about a concern I've had for about a week now. Anyway!

DS is doing great; 17 lbs at 2 months (born at 9, almost 10), blah...

Re: Grumpy almost 2 week old

    OKAY.

Hopefully this is the last time I bump this but lately the baby's been snacking and wanting the boob all the time, which I realize is probably because he's in his 4-6 week old growth spurt,...

    Re: Grumpy 4 week old

I don't really have anyone, no! My mother will take the elder baby for a day every or every other weekend, but that's about it.

Uhm. I do have a question, though: there is NO way that this baby is...

Re: Grumpy almost 2 week old

I've tried him in my Ergo and he detests it - in fact, he SCREAMS. The moby's alright, except I always manage to make where his head goes too lose and so I have to hold his head upright; I might as...

Re: Grumpy almost 4 week old

    Whee. I'm back.

He's now 4 weeks old and while that's good and dandy he has been killing me recently.

He will nurse and fall asleep. I will burp him and try to wake him up and put the nipple at...

Re: Grumpy almost 2 week old

Thanks so much to all of you, especially mommal; you were super helpful last year when I needed help and I could just kiss your face!

I tried the reclining/leaning back nursing but it didn't work....

Re: Grumpy almost 2 week old

I've tried laying back but he wants noooothing to do with it. What's odd is he has a broken clavicle because he was so big, but loves to nurse cross cradle while laying on that side. He won't do...

    Grumpy almost 2 week old

    A little background:

My son was born 1/27 in a natural, unmedicated birth at the hospital. We've been nursing ever since - but man oh man. I am not getting any sleep, which wouldn't be such a big...

Why is he not paying attention!?

I swear! Just when things started to get good and I finally got him onto the breast instead of pumping --

He's hit a growth spurt. I get that. Sometimes, especially at night, he nurses forEVER....

    Re: Just fussy?

I had to take my son outside ... a lot! We went for walks around the block either in his sling, or in the stroller if I had the dog with us.

I also laid him down on his belly, over my lap, and...

Re: Is BF at 7 wks possible?

Ah, okay. Usually he sucks super strong for the first like ... 7 minutes, then he'll lay there, half conscious, with a boob in his mouth for another 7-8; though sometimes I can manage to coax him to...

Re: Is BF at 7 wks possible?

Since the next LLL meeting here isn't until after the New Year, I thought I'd ask here ...

He's been doing better lately, in terms of wanting the boob -- in fact, a few nights ago when he was...

Re: Is BF at 7 wks possible?

The mastitis was diagnosed by a nurse, as was the thrush ... but it was over the phone. I believe I truly did have mastitis because of the hot and pink-colored area that appeared on the bottom part...

Hey guys! Just wanted to keep y'all updated a little.

Re: Is BF at 7 wks possible?

The latch is probably still off; my nipples are very pink and hurt especially for the latch on, and have been hurting worse during feeding than not. However, they still are tender afterward....
