    Re: Beginner Questions

Good questions. Are you looking to do traditional baby food, or baby led solids? We hadn't heard of BLS (also known as BLWeaning) before a friend mentioned it to me. Basically, the concept is that...

Re: Is it safe to get a flu shot?

Agree with PPs -- but with this caveat. I am one of those people who gets sick WHEN I get the flu shot... and don't get sick when I skip out on it. My DH is the same way. Understandably, we skip...

Re: Can't manage my milk supply!

I feel for you. My LO comfort nursed all night long up until 6mos. This past month I figured out he's been really uncomfortable due to wet diapers. We tried EC'ing at night, and amazingly, he...

Re: BF position as they grow?

A friend of mine lays on the floor...on her back, and her twins each take a boob. They kinda sit/lean forwards onto her from the floor. You could try something like that!!

    I've laid on my back...
  8. Re: when did you move your LO to thier r

My LO is almost 7mos and we haven't really thought about moving to the crib yet. I did just start moving him to the sidecar off our bed this past week. He's been doing pretty well with that -- but...

    Re: Very Poor weight gain

My LO is almost the same age.... and I've noticed that he nurses MUCH better at nighttime and when we are lying down in bed. So, sometimes, I will go nurse in bed (which turns into naptime) so that...

Re: Trying to get all the facts :-)

We started a little after 6mos -- that booklet and the book both discuss signs of readiness. And it's pretty much the same as readiness for starting normal foods -- but with the understanding that...

Re: Trying to get all the facts :-)

We are doing BLS - LO is 6.5 mos, and so far we've only given him apple slices and green/yellow pepper slices. He has LOVED exploring the tastes, textures, etc ...and while he hasn't really *eaten*...

    Re: Need to lose weight!!!

Eating the "right" foods definitely goes a long way. I also found it helpful to pack some "good" snacks for when I had those starving moments (i.e. right before LO needs to nurse) -- that way I eat...

I ate sushi while pregnant (abstained from the raw/uncooked rolls though). Now that I'm nursing, I will eat raw sushi too. The key thing is, we eat at a reputable sushi restaurant -- if I were...

You should be fine! Aside from introducing yourself, you won't really have to "actively" participate... it's mostly people sharing questions (and answers). So... if you *have* questions, you can...

Re: BF and going on a cruise...

Have you considered those wrist bands that are supposed to prevent/treat motion sickness? That would be a non-chemical method of dealing with the problem, so it wouldn't affect your milk at all.

    Re: Birth control?

Agreed. I was on birth control pills briefly a number of years ago -- didn't like the way they made me feel. So since then, our method = condoms. Don't have to worry about any "side effects"...

    Re: One boob nurser

FWIW, not everyone has evenly sized breasts to begin with. Pre-PG, my left was larger than the right. No one else really notices it,... but I definitely went through a self-conscious phase.
