    Re: so confused

Nope! I got my period 2 months pp with my last 2 and nursed for 14 months. You may notice a decrease in supply at that time. A calcium and magnesium supplement will help with that.

    Re: Nipple Shield Weaning Advice

    Hi there,
we just weaned off the shield and my dd is 7 weeks old. The first thing I did was to just try to get her to latch without the shield. I just tried at random times, sometimes she would...
  4. Re: 100% off the shield but now latching issues and green poop

Just wanted to update everyone. We met with the LC on Tuesday and of course LO latched on perfectly while there! I just have to really make sure her mouth is wide open when she latches, now that...
  5. 100% off the shield but now latching issues and green poop

We have been off the shield 100% for the last day and a half. But I can't seem to get her to latch just right. My nipple is not lipstick shaped but there is a white line right in the middle when she...

    Re: zero weight gain

I had a similar situation with my DD
She was 7 lbs 6 oz at birth
6 lbs 15 oz at discharge
7 lbs at her 5 day
7 lbs 1 oz at her 2 week
At her 3 week she was 7 lbs 6 oz. Between her 2nd and 3rd...
  7. Re: Weaning off nipple shield question

She wasn't as content after feedings but today she has done better and is nursing longer. I feel like she is emptying my breasts more than yesterday. But now she isn't latching quite right so I'm...
  8. Weaning off nipple shield question

DD is 6 weeks and in the past few days I have finally gotten her to nurse without the shield!:clap But she is nursing for a much shorter time now. She was nursing at least 10 min per side and...

    Re: Here we go again

She had not eaten right before the weigh in. I did feed her after we weighed her and we were going to weigh her again but then she filled up her diaper so we decided not to.
    I have not really...

    Here we go again

Just took my 2 week old in for her checkup and she's only gained 1 oz since her 6 day check up. She was 7 lbs 6 oz at birth, 6 lbs 15 oz at discharge, 7 lbs even at her 6 day checkup and today at 2...

    Re: milk

Also if you have started your period there may be a temporary dip in supply. A calcium and magnesium supplement will help a lot during your period. I started my period 8 weeks pp with my last 2 and...

Re: Nipple Shields and lazy Sucking?

I have noticed that when I'm really full LO just latches on and lets the milk spill into her mouth without having to work for it. But most of the time she does still have to work for it. I think...

    How to not worry?

With my last LO we had all kinds of issues, he ended up being diagnosed FTT and was on a feeding tube for 3 months. He had reflux, and a dairy and soy intolerance. I had to nurse with an SNS and pump...

Re: Any SNS veterans out there?

Sounds like you're doing a great job. I think he's probably just going through a growth spurt. Just keep doing what you're doing! He's still getting most of his nutrition from your breast milk and...

Re: Any SNS veterans out there?

We had to use an SNS for a few months but we never increased the supplement he got in it. If I had pumped milk we used BM or if I hadn't had a chance to pump we would use formula. Babies who are on...
  21. Re: Don't think my 3.5 mo old will ever "get it"

Have you tried using an SNS? My DS had lots of problems and he went on a nursing strike and then once I got to nurse him again I had to use the SNS but it kept him nursing and I didn't have to pump...

  23. Re: Beyond help? part 2 and SNS question....

I'm not sure about an online retailer, there is a nursing specialty store near me and I went in there and they carried them. I bought the more expensive medela one, but they also have a starter one...
  24. Re: Beyond help? part 2 and SNS question....

We used the SNS starting at 2 months and used it until DS was 4 months old, it's not too late to try it! I'm not familiar with your situation, are you giving bottles after every feeding now or just...
  25. Re: is my milk supply getting smaller? also i have a gassy baby! help!

It's pretty normal for your breasts to not feel as full as your supply adjusts to what baby is taking. If you can pump 2 oz after a feeding that is good! I think your supply is just evening out, as...
