    Re: dropped percentile

So glad the panic is over and it's a good reminder about the need for proper scales! :)

Re: to wean or not to wean

I'm not sure that lead would pass through breastmilk... It's given me something to research! Are her lead issues a cause for concern?

As for whether to wean I think only you know that, but if you...
  3. Re: 22 month old still waking up constantly at night to nurs

If your toddler is pretty good at understanding books, there are a couple along the lines of what the PP said called 'nursies when the sun shines'

Re: Breast refusal at 3.5 months

Green poop is normal and the foremilk/hindmilk issue is usually way over exaggerated. A baby can thrive on 'foremilk' alone. (Technically speaking it's all milk and there is no such thing as fore and...

    Re: Sensitive Nipples

Do they look ok? Any whiteness or blanching or redness? It could be vasospasm in which case warmth will help. With vasospasm you tend to notice the nipples are white after a feed or whenever you get...

Re: Not sure what the problem is.

Not necessarily, as your supply regulates OALD tends to calm down :)

Re: domperidone not working any longer

Ok, so my daughter is playing quietly so am going to attempt to reply better. What I *think* is happening is that baby isn't transferring milk effectively at the breast and that feeding hasn't been...

Re: domperidone not working any longer

It's not normal for breasts to feel full. It's actually a sign of slight over supply so that in itself doesn't mean the dom isn't working.

Can you give a bit more background on why you started...

Re: Not sure what the problem is.

Babies do cluster feed, nurse faster without shields and change patterns. I think the LC may be right and that hanging on in there a couple of days makes sense.

My only other thought is maybe you...
  10. Re: 5 Week Old Can't (Won't) Latch *LONG*

EP 'ing is really hard :/ I hope tomorrow's appointment can shed some light for you. Tongue ties are easily missed and I've known ladies not have them picked up until 4th and even 5th examinations....
  11. Poll: Re: How much time does your baby nurse at every session?

I've never timed her! But she'll latch for ages when do I g to sleep and latch for milliseconds when wanting to play. It all depends on so much ;) In general tho as baby's grow they get faster if...

Re: 3 Month Old - Is It Too Late?

If you are in pain due to latch I'd be considering the division. That said post division baby may need some oral motor therapy to enable them to learn to use the tongue better after so long of it...
  13. Re: 5 wk old, and having trouble with supply, let down, & la

    Hello there!

How is your nipple looking on the sore side? Any whiteness/blanching water a feed, does the nipple look slanty/squished/lipstick like at the end of a feed or more rounded like a...

    Re: Introducing liquids

    Thanks all!

I've always been really pro the only water rule until she is older - like as long as I can get away with it before she starts saying 'but Mummy everybody else has juice!' but I do...

    Introducing liquids

Ok, so I *think* I know the answer to this but am starting to doubt myself... At what point should I be offering liquids in between meals?

Currently my DD has water with meals which sometimes...
  16. Re: Helping 11 month co-sleeping baby sleep

*bump* my daughter has phases of feeding/waking frequently like this when poorly... But she always nurses back down. I'm hoping some mums csn help you!

    Re: Refusing bottle during day

Normally a baby won't starve themselves, was it a one off? Did you taste the milk to make sure it's ok? Sometimes women have more lipase in their milk than others and as the lipase acts on the fats...

Re: Tips for Nipple Shield Weaning

2 oz is a good feed! I hope your appointment goes well.

It may feel like it takes perfect days and all of your time to feed but as milk transfer improves that will lessen. Longer sleep stretches...
  19. Re: 8 WO - Shallow Latch, can it improve?(LONG!)

I just wanted to say you have come a long long way and you are doing great!

My daughter's latch wasn't sorted until she was around 4 months old when we finally saw an IBCLC and an osteopath. We...

    Re: night pumping-how often?

If you are feeding on demand and have no need to pump, don't do it! It sounds like your supply is fine so it's unlikely that you will have issues just because your baby is sleeping.

    That said if...
  21. Re: Giving pumped milk at same time of day?

It takes me several attempts to get a full feed so one the occasions my daughter had expressed milk it was all from different times of the day mixed together! I wouldn't sweat it. :)
  22. Re: There's no such thing as nursing too much. but I worry.

:) with Mommal, all my daughter did was nurse, then she learnt to sit up and suddenly the world became a much more interesting place to be!
  23. Re: Will only nurse through naps...3mos

My daughter was like this, kinda, I found I would side lie with her and in the end she would fall off the breast and carry on sleeping as long as I laid there too, so I would simply sleep with her....

Re: Tips for Nipple Shield Weaning

There's a range of ways to supplement, you can use an SNS/lact aid set up where baby can receive extra at the breast, you can cup feed, syringe feed or bottle feed.

You can pump and give what you...
