  1. Re: I just can't seem to make pumping wo

I decided I'm too stressed, so first to relax. I used my manual pump today after he nursed and quickly got an ounce out, so maybe I will fair better that way. I'm going to go and feed him twice a...
  2. Re: I just can't seem to make pumping wo

I was wondering about that JoMo. I was really good at manual pumping in the early days; I'll give that a go too. I'll keep working on my hand expressing!
  3. Re: I just can't seem to make pumping wo

Thanks Aprilsmagic. I just needed to get all of this off my chest to people who get it. Everyone seems to just shrug me off and they ask me when I'm going to quit.

    That's a good idea Yogi; I'll...
  4. Re: I just can't seem to make pumping wo

Yes, I am really stressed about it. I really hate that I feel like I'm forced to choose: take care of my baby or keep my career. I know I'm preaching to the choir here!

    Baby is drinking 2 - 5 oz...
  5. Re: I just can't seem to make pumping wo

Thanks, that link was really helpful!

I do nurse him at night if he wants to, which is most nights. He usually only wakes up once, and then I wake him and nurse again at 5AM when I get up.
  6. I just can't seem to make pumping work!

I think I have reached my breaking point for pumping! My baby is 5 months and I have been working full time since December. I have an Ameda Purely Yours Ultra (purchased new) and was doing pretty...
  7. Re: How do I know if DCP is overfeeding?

I'm on the fence with this one. I was doing well, but now my nipples are really sore so I have had to take a break and switch back to my ameda. I'm going to try it again today; I must be using it too...
  8. Re: How do I know if DCP is overfeeding?

He does his normal nursing at 1. 5:30 seems to be more of just a "I missed you" quick nurse and he is ready to eat again when we get home at 6:30.

It's odd, I really like the pediatrician; he is...
  9. How do I know if DCP is overfeeding?

I drop my baby off at day care at 8AM and nurse him. I then return at 1 to nurse again and pick up and nurse at 5:30. He seems to be on a schedule of taking a bottle at 10:30 and 3:30, so usually...

Re: Time to Rent a Pump?

I broke out my largest pumpin pal and that's working well. I got an XXL flange too, but I'm going to wait until the weekend to give that a go. I'm already pumping 6 ounces instead of 4; better tell...

Re: Time to Rent a Pump?

I went to the lactation consultant and they let me try out the Ameda Elite. It reallly felt better than my pump, but she told me they have the same motor. But, they tried a glass flange on me. Wow! I...

Re: Time to Rent a Pump?

I arrive at 8AM and nurse him and I return at 1PM to nurse him again, and then return at 5:30. I leave 2 - 4 oz bottles for him, and he usually has one around 11 AM and one around 3:30 PM. I also...

Re: Time to Rent a Pump?

It's a new pump, I just got it in October. I've been wondering if it has been working right, it seems like it will get stuck in between speeds. Ameda is going to send me another one based on what I...

    Time to Rent a Pump?

I’ve been pumping since December and I have been doing pretty well with keeping up with my baby’s intake, but lately I’ve only been able to get about 1 to 2.5 oz total during two 15 min pumping...
  15. Re: Single pumping getting more milk...

So it was breast compressions after all! I thought I was doing them, but after trying again, I realized I needed to try a little harder :lol
  16. Re: Single pumping getting more milk...

Ah, OK that all makes sense now. It's so tempting to just pump one. I was able to get all 3 ounces I needed in 10 minutes, but I haven't been able to do that in 15-20 with two. I'll keep trying! I...
  17. Re: Single pumping getting more milk...

I really don't seem to have a problem letting down for the pump. It takes a little longer than it would for baby to get it, but it's usually under 2 minutes.

I have to ask the question, if I am...
  18. Re: Single pumping getting more milk...

Thanks for all of the responses. I did try breast compressions and that does seem to help it drip out a bit faster. Today I experimented. While double pumping, I pinched off one of the tubes and the...
  19. Single pumping getting more milk...

Hello - I returned to work yesterday and I am having trouble double pumping. I have an ameda purely yours pump, and I always had a hard time getting milk out when I double pumped at home. I would...

    Re: Annoying Feeling

I do believe that is the problem. Right around 3 weeks, baby went from nursing for 30 minutes between the two breasts to only one in about 7 minutes. I didn't force the issue and just let him nurse...

    Re: Annoying Feeling

Oversupply does seem to make sense now that you say that. My husband kept telling me that, but I always ruled it out because baby never had problems. I do recall now that there were a few weeks in...

    Should I pump both breasts?

Hello - I'm returning to work next week and I'm confused about how I should be pumping. DS only nurses from one breast per feeding, so I just alternate which one I use at each feeding. When I pump,...

    Re: Annoying Feeling

Thanks, you definitely gave me a lot to think about! I am tired and I do need help. I was just pumping because I'm nervous about doing it right. I'll give it a rest this last week at home and trust...

    Re: Annoying Feeling

Thanks for the info! I have seen a IBCLC twice, and she told me I had thrush the second time we went in, but that was when baby was 2 weeks old. I actually tried every pump shield they make for my...
