    Re: Parsley Leaf

I would guess every woman's body is different. I have avoided parsley, sage, peppermint and others entirely while breastfeeding.
  4. Re: breastfeeding twins -- nursing vacation to increase supp

People said don't nurse on a schedule but since I couldn't tandem nurse (they weren't very efficient at it) I did nurse on a schedule but one where I was feeding them before they were really hungry...
  5. Re: breastfeeding twins -- nursing vacation to increase supp

If your babies are good at milk removal, which it sounds like they are ,then please don't pump. It's much more pleasant and a better use of time to just keep babies at breast. Sometimes I would nurse...
  6. Re: Looking to vent and get some support

I had preemie twins (35 weeks) and they did wake up around their due date but didn't nurse efficiently until they were 11 weeks. Until then I pumped around the clock, 10-16x/day with a hospital grade...
  7. Re: Down to one session a day, how long to expect milk to st

Breastfeeding is about much more than milk, which you know well by this age. I could express a drop or two but I doubt my daughter got more than a few drops/day the last few mos. :)

    Re: I'm nursing toddlers again!!

Thank you! They had a fun birthday. It's just hard to believe they're one although it was a very exhausting first year!
  9. Re: Down to one session a day, how long to expect milk to st

my experience is that at that age they don't necessarily care if there's milk or not so it's fine. Do you know that you're even still making more than a couple of drops of milk? Do you see many...
  10. Re: Breastfeeding twins at same time football hold issues

Congratulations on your twins and for making it through the first month! My twins just turned 1 yr. When they were that little, I rolled up burp cloths or receiving blankets under their necks when I...

    Re: I'm nursing toddlers again!!

Thanks mommal and Meg! It's been a wild ride, for sure! Now for the fun stuff. I love toddler nursing. No worries about supply; they are such huge self-feeders of solids and that was such a huge...

    I'm nursing toddlers again!!

My sweet little boys turned one today. Thanks again everyone for the support. Breastfeeding twins has been one of the more challenging things I've done but I'm very thankful we worked through the...

Re: Do you still ovulate while BF

My first PP cycle with my daughter I went 95 days and did not ovulate. I didn't ovulate for a few cycles. You can ovulate before your first period but if you ovulate, you'll either get pregnant or...
  14. Re: Cow's Milk: Necessary or Optional?

It's way better for babies to get human milk, but many info sheets, like Mommal said, assume your baby has weaned. Even though it's recommended by AAP to nurse a minimum of 12 mos most moms don't...
  15. Re: Cow's Milk: Necessary or Optional?

I gave DD cow's milk after 2 yrs because she nursed so often. We eat a lot of cheese in our house, though and I gave her water to drink in addition to nursing.

    Re: Goats Milk

Dr Jack Newman says it's fine to give babies milk from a different species if they are on a variety of solids. At 10.5 mos, I'd feel comfortable giving a couple oz of goat's milk. I'm not a fan of...
  17. Re: inducing lacatation for toddler when pregnant

I agree I do not think it's wise to re-lactate while pregnant. If you want to offer your toddler milk when new baby comes that might be the easiest. Can he latch on? There are lots of other bonding...

Re: Is return of AF imminent for me?

Or maybe ovulation spotting? I had some pinkish a few days ago with cramping and I wonder if I might have ovulated. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks.

    Re: Weaning and Fertility

B vitamins lower estrogen, not increase progesterone, so really it wouldn't be helpful even if you did have a luteal phase issue.
  20. Re: Two week old twins-EBF is tough...pumping for relief?

You sound like you're in way too much pain. Nursing really shouldn't hurt. What have the LCs told you or done for you? Have they helped them latch better?

I would not give up yet. I am...

    Re: How to obtain Domperidone

Sorry, Karen, I thought it might help Dr Newman from getting too many requests but he doesn't mind.

Re: HELP!? The spotting wont quit

I don't think the pelvic exam would tell you what you need to know. Blood work might or an ultrasound.

    Re: How to obtain Domperidone

Dr Newman will give you the name of an online pharmacy, I'm trying to remember the name but it's not too expensive and it's under the name Vomistop.

is the link he gives, I don't know if that's OK...

    Re: solid starting q's

I give sips of water in a mug when they eat quite a few solids, for one, because my babies can get a little constipated without it, and also I think it's fine for electrolytes if they're already...
