Pump Not Working - Milk Backflowed, Help!

I've been using a Medela Swing which has worked lovely for me through 9 months of abuse... but it's finally gave out (I think) due to a little "accident". I wasn't paying attention and the milk...

Re: my baby doesn't sleep during the day!

My little one also has moments when she likes to stay up during the day also and sleeps all night... to eat. Just the other day she was feeding from 3PM - 1AM on and off and no sleep - emptying both...

Re: No use crying over spilled milk

I have a stash as well and I accidently let 16oz of milk boil over that I was initially just scalding and was nearly in tears. :cry It bothers me when she lets the milk dribble all over the place...
  4. Re: how long does it take for you to warm milk?

Run it under hot water, gently swirling for about 2 minutes. Or sit it in a bowl of hot water for about 2 minutes. Mine doesn't mind slightly cooler milk so a minute is fine for me.

    Re: Newbie confused about basics?

One of the most highly recommended double-electric pumps are Medela's Pump In Style, either the Advanced or Original. It's pricey but there's been few complaints in regards to its performance....

Sounds perfectly fine. It's perfectly normal for them to not have a bowel movement for 1 - 3 days.

Re: Help with getting baby to take a bottle

Try Breastflow bottles from The First Years/Learning Curve. It has a dual nipple shaped like the breast and milk does not come out unless proper press+suck movement is made - so it can be used to...

Re: Could I go for 5-6 hrs. w/out pumping...?

It should be fine, just fit in an extra session or two in your day to make up for it. I may or may not pump at night (I sleep for about 6 -7 hours) and my supply is just fine.

    Re: The Hand Dance

Gotta love that hand dance :D I'll use a SwaddleMe blanket at night to keep mine nice and bundled up, but I suppose that can't be done with a much older baby.

One of my nipples is flat and the other is short, my daughter was able to draw out both nipples once she adjusted to latching properly. I never used nipple shields, I've read there might be some...

    Re: Medala Swing

I used a Swing. Great pump, but I wish it was a double pumper since I pump almost exclusively. If it's only for occasional use, and you're not in a rush, then it should be fine. I pump on average 3oz...

    Re: pumping and supply

I pump much more than she drinks. During the day she'll usually take about 3-4oz, and I pump about that much from each breast. I'll keep the other 3-4oz for the next feeding, but by the end of the...

    Bruised?

I don't feel engorged, I don't think it's a plugged duct, I don't have sore nipples, and I don't think it's thrush... but I feel bruised in a small area at the bottom of one breast. It only hurts to...
