    Chewing, chewing, chewing

Me again! The twins are 5 weeks, still having issues. Dominic's latch is getting better, and I can nurse him with a nipple shield without any pain. August on the other hand, really seems like he...
  2. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

I really hope so. I've cut out supplementing during the day so they'll nurse more often, I think that's helped with supply.
  3. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

Things are going a little bit better... I think they're just starting to grow a little, so it's easier to latch on with larger mouths.

Still using the shield since they're still creasing my...
  4. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

Yup, I've been alternating Lanolin and Soothie Pads. Loooove the Soothies.

I've been pumping and bottle feeding for today to give myself a rest. I've been able to get around 2oz every couple of...
  5. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

Searching the Internet, can't find anything bigger than the 24mm.... Bah.
  6. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

A little bit of burning, till it gets back to normal, and general soreness in between feedings.
  7. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

    Thanks so much y'all!

Today started out a little better. I got some good stretches of sleep last night (around 3 hours at a time!), so I woke up a little less sore. I've gotten progressively sore...
  8. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

I've tried the usual positions, but I haven't tried laid back... I'll definitely try that next! I'll look up that KellyMom article too. I used a medium size shield last time I nursed, but I suppose...
  9. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

    Thanks for the responses, all...

I think I'll try to find an ENT around here to get them looked at, just in case. I'm kinda over the idea of pumping today, I think I was just having a moment..

  10. Re: Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

Both the pedi and the IBCLC said they didn't think they had tongue ties... They're able to extend their tongues out past their gums. Most of the time, it looks like the latch is good (lips flanged...
  11. Newborn twins, horrible latches, ready to quit.

Hey y'all, thanks in advance for your help...

2 weeks ago, I delivered my twin boys via c-section. The birth went well, I was able to breast feed immediately, they roomed in with me, etc. but from...

Upper lip tie? What say you?

(Posted on the Kelly Mom forums too, sorry if you see the double post)

I'm so upset that I didn't notice this till now... we had a HORRIBLE time the first month with latch issues, and I've...

  14. Re: How do others cope with waking up every few hours?

My husband bought me a Nook, and I just get up and read a good book while LO is feeding. I feel your pain though, I'm absolutely exhausted. :(

Re: When will the pain go away?

I didn't find the Lansinoh effective at all :shrug but the Medela helped me greatly.

Re: When will the pain go away?

You might want to try using Medela Lanolin instead of Lansinoh... I had the same issues, and I ended up liking the Medela brand alot better. It's not as thick, and you don't have to rub it around on...
  18. Re: what pacifier is closest to my nipple?

My little one doesn't like the Soothies :( but she seems to do just fine with the Avent orthodontic paci.

    Re: Painful latch...still!

I feel like I'm kinda having the same problem... I don't think my little girl is opening up wide enough, and she latches on HARD, but she seems to situate herself a little better after 10 seconds or...

Re: Dear God, she won't stop feeding....

I do have another question, though... I thought at first that my nipples were sore because all this is new, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's her latch. She gets a good one, but she chomps on SO...

Re: Dear God, she won't stop feeding....

Hehe, thanks all... I think I knew the answer to that question, but wanted the confirmation anyway. I've got a friend wagging her finger at me telling me I'm screwing everything up by spoiling her....

Dear God, she won't stop feeding....

Hey all. I think this is my first post here, I registered a while ago...

I've got a sweet little girl, only 3 days old. My milk came in today, but she's been doing the same thing since day 1......
