    Re: Tah dah!

Hooray for you! We just made it to the one year mark as well. I also found nursing the second time around easier, mainly emotionally. I was sooo ready to quit and started weaning ASAP at the one year...
  2. Re: Do you hide the fact that you are still nursing?

I never really talk about nursing in general so I won't be advertising it (she's almost 12 months). People have been asking me and I've been telling them 18-24 months sounds about right. My BFF...

Re: Dropping the paci by 1 year

Your dentist might have better advice. I know that we took our first off the bottle first, the binky second. What we did was slowly phase out milk in bottles but let her have water (we watered down...
  4. Re: I need INFORMATION...please :)

From what I hear as long as your baby is nursing 4 times a day then she is fine from a milk perspective. I have an 11 month old and what I plan to do is nurse on demand at night (typically 2-3 good...

Re: 10 month old barely eating

I decided to pump both sides and now she is eating fine. I'm guessing she is feeling better. I hope my supply is not affected but at least she is eating.

Re: 10 month old barely eating

If she isn't showing signs of improvement, or if she shows signs of dehydration I'll bring her in to the doctor. I always take her when my husband says I should and so far he hasn't said to take her...

    10 month old barely eating

Norah is is almost 11 months. She has had a low grade fever since Friday evening (100.3 or lower via armpit) that goes away with Motrin. She has very mild diarrhea, a very tiny amount with each...
  8. Re: Bf'ing on Demand: Such a thing as "too often"?

Thanks for this thread, it helped me a lot, reassured me that what I am doing is correct. It is so hard sometimes when everyone in the "real world" tells you something different. It seems like...

    Re: 7 month old-solids Q's

    Thanks for the advice.
I typically nurse before & shortly after dinner. I think I will try her breakfast tomorrow, see how that goes. And I am going to stop over-thinking this whole solids deal.

    Re: cow's milk allergy

My daughter's allergist said no goat's milk and not to use soy either.
She outgrew her allergy at 2 1/2. Unfortunately my 2nd baby is also allergic so I am avoiding dairy as well.

    Re: 7 month old-solids Q's

Your second sounds like my first and vice-versa!
I think I am most worried about N not getting enough breastmilk. With my first I weaned her at one year because that is what I thought I was...

    7 month old-solids Q's

Does your 7 month old eat solids every day? And do you feed once a day, twice a day, or 3 times a day?
I am lazy and don't feed her solids every day. Her ped thinks she should be eating twice a day...
  13. Re: 4-month sleep regression, teething, or both?

Same here, but mine did it at 5 months. She slept so well before that and this week has been torture for me. She was up every hour last night. Why am I not in bed, lol!

    Re: introducing cereal

I never made it that runny, and I think I used water. That was with my first baby and she had her first taste of rice cereal at 5 months. I am skipping it this time around with the new one, I started...

    Re: REM sleep

Babies cycle faster than adults, at least that is what my husband told me and he's a physician.

    Re: Teething Help

Just so you know, my bottle of tylenol says every 6 hours, not every 4 hours. I think it is okay to give your baby medicine if they are in pain but for a 3 month old I would consider asking your ped....

    Re: Gas and allergies

Well I have been dairy free since my post and I can't tell if it is helping yet. I know it can take up to 3 weeks for all the dairy to get out of our systems though.
  18. Re: How often to feed at 4 months?

This is why I don't talk about my baby in terms of eating and sleeping to very many people. I hate all the negative comments from people. Thank God for my supportive husband.
    My 4 month old has...

    Gas and allergies

I was just looking up what foods that I may eat that can cause gas in breastfed babies and saw an article on kellymom that said dairy can cause infant gas. This got me thinking. My oldest daughter...

Re: Vitamin D and Iron Supp

There is a Vitamin D supplement that is only Vitamin D, you can google it. It is called Just D. That other stuff is made by Enfamil and tastes horrible. My ped wants me to put my littlest one on Vit...
  21. Re: Formula is the answer to everything (rant)

If she isn't getting enough calories you could always try adding a drop of canola or olive oil to her solids. We did that after our first was weaned from breastmilk and could only drink rice milk...

Re: How long did you do the 4 day rule

There are two good reasons to wait 3 days (or more) between introducing new foods. One, it takes a previous exposure to have an allergic reaction. So if you feed banana today and then banana tomorrow...
  23. Re: Yet another "ped pushing foods at 6 months" thread

I started my first on solids at 5 months, her tongue reflex was gone and was sitting up fine. I just gave my 4 month old some medicine and she has a strong tongue reflex still, it is a nightmare...

    Re: Dairy "Contact" Allergy?

My oldest daughter, now 4, experienced the same thing the first time I gave her yogurt. She didn't like it so I didn't give it to her again. When she started drinking milk at one year old she would...

    Re: Visitor Vent

I know how hard dealing with family can be, I am the only one to breastfeed past three months and really the minority to even try.
I know my in-laws all look really disappointed when I pull my wrap...
