Re: Is it what I think it is?

I didn't know it peaked at 4 months. That explains a lot!

Re: Why wont he drink soy milk??

My SIL had this problem with her youngest. He isn't allergic to dairy though, he just wouldn't drink cow's milk. So she tried soy, because her second child took that when he wouldn't take cow's...

    Re: Formula in MY house!!!!

I have some in the house, but only because Owen was a preemie, so for the first month we were supplementing my breastmilk with it a couple times a day, per doctor's orders. What we have is just...

Re: Screams on my left side

Well, fortunately it was just something he was doing yesterday. He's back to taking both sides again today! It must have been something to do with teething.

Re: Screams on my left side

I tried leaning over to my right with my left breast, but I was too awkward at it, so he still wouldn't take it. I will keep trying though - it might just take some practice.

    I was thinking ear...

    Screams on my left side

I have no idea what is going on. It just started with his 4 am feeding this morning: Whenever I try to nurse Owen on my left breast today, he will scream and cry and arch his back. He will nurse,...
  7. Re: Diagnosing Reflux vs. OALD vs. Dairy Sensitivity - NEED HELP

It could be a combo of all three - that's what was going on with my LO. I wish I could tell you how to distinguish between the three, but since we have all of them going on, I couldn't really tell...

Re: Will only eat when almost asleep...

That is very reassuring. Some of the fussiness was lessened today, but I still have to nurse him when he is falling asleep or just waking up. I think the meds are starting to take effect. He also...

Re: Will only eat when almost asleep...

Hmm - I think I will try that. He took the bottle really well last night. I hadn't thought to try it cold. On top of everything else, we are on round 3 of thrush, so my nipples are killing me. ...

Will only eat when almost asleep...

I have to soothe my 4.5 month old until he is almost asleep before I can get him to latch on and stay there. It is really annoying. I'm sure some of it is because we just switched reflux meds and...

Re: Anyone using meds to treat infant reflux?

Same story as the others - we started on Zantac, but it stopped being very effective. We just switched to Prevacid 2 days ago, so we are going through the 2 week hell of waiting for it to kick in. ...

    Re: Refux or just spit-up

My LO has reflux, and he doesn't spit up any more than your average baby. He is what is called a silent refluxer - he just ends up swallowing it back down most of the time, or else it doesn't come...

Re: Losing hair due to breastfeeding?

Mine has just started falling out too. Back to cleaning out the shower drain! I actually thought it would start a lot sooner after the baby was born. It was nice that it waited 3.5 months!

    Re: Crying Baby!!! Argh!

Well, not all babies with reflux spit up a lot. This is called "silent reflux." My LO kind of has this. He does spit up sometimes, but a lot of the time it just comes part way up his throat and he...

Re: 3 1/2 mo old with possible reflux

...Unless your LO is REALLY uncomfortable like mine is if he doesn't get his Zantac. You don't want your LO to get older and associate food with pain. I have a friend that had that problem with her...

    Re: lengthy feedings

I wouldn't worry about the poopie diapers being so spaced out. After a while, some babies start to do that. It just means they are digesting the milk really efficiently. My LO just started...

Re: congestion due to milk allergy

I just take a calcium supplement. I didn't know that some babies will react to beef as well! I wonder if that's why my LO still has uncomfortable tummy problems sometimes. I eat a lot of beef for...

Re: How do you know LO wants to BF?

I find that if he keeps spitting out the binky, he probably wants to eat. He will also lunge towards his hands sometimes. Otherwise, I just figure it out by trial and error.

Re: What does Let-Down feel like?

Oh yes, and I should add - I never feel in on the side that is being nursed on - just the other side, which usually causes me to press on it with my hand so as not to leak too much.
  21. Re: can someting I'm eating cause my baby to have congestion

Could be a food allergy or it could just be your baby. My LO is always having congestion problems and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat.

Re: What does Let-Down feel like?

Mine originally felt like a tingling sensation in my nipples, and after a couple of months it changed to more of a throbbing coming from somewhere in the middle of my boob. Not painful, but not very...
  23. Re: Please help! Baby is so upset after every feeding!!

Jenimommy has a good point. I have overactive letdown. LO can handle it now, but it was really rough for a while there. I remember that none of the recommended feeding positions worked for us...
  24. Re: Please help! Baby is so upset after every feeding!!

The doctor didn't think it was reflux? I'm not a doctor, but my LO does have reflux, and that sounds a lot like what he was doing before we got him on meds. Reflux babies can also be gassier.

  25. Re: Ate at 6 - went to bed at 9 without eating...

I did a twilight feed at 11 because he was stirring just a little bit. He woke up again at 12 (DH took care of it), 2:30, 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00. *sigh* Maybe I should have skipped the twilight feed...
