    Re: only 1.5hrs!

I needed a baby carrier I could nurse in to get through this stage. She gets hungry when I'm grocery shopping? No problem, just latch her on and keep shopping. Actual driving is out, of course.

    Re: "hovering" at the breast

Could she be annoyed by overactive letdown? Just a guess.

    Re: Not really enjoying nursing...

This sounds like a normal reaction to the enormous amount of work required to take care of a baby. It's important to remember that babies require all this effort no matter what you're feeding them....

    Re: Car travel & breastfeeding

I'm still in the A or B range myself. Nursing in the car is definitely awkward, but better than having an upset baby. I kneel on my own seat, so I can raise myself up as much as necessary. Then I...

I don't have experience with this myself, but here's some info on nipple shields that I hope is useful:

Re: One Month Old Losing Weight

If your baby's diaper output is fine, I strongly suspect that these erratic weight swings are just from badly-calibrated scales.

Have you seen an IBCLC, or just someone calling herself a LC? You...

Re: save money AND your baby's life?

When they discover that some product kills over 900 American babies a year, don't they usually do a recall? But formula companies just keep advertising.

When I hear about moms who stop...
  8. Re: Help, please. 4-hour feedings, latch issue?

My baby did this at the beginning too. That's just what some babies need to do. If diaper output is OK, there's no problem.

It can be very inconvenient for you, of course. Have you tried...

    Re: Car travel & breastfeeding

We take a lot of long trips. I use the leaning-over-the-carseat method. My seatbelt stays on, although I'm sure it's not as safe as sitting properly in my seat.

    Re: 6wk growth spurt

Co-sleeping is the only way I found to get through this. To feed the baby, I roll on to the other side, latch, and go back to sleep. I hardly even wake up.

    Re: Galactagogue Survey

How are you determining this? There are many possible reasons for screaming or other fussiness besides hunger. For example, do you try to put her down after a feeding? Most babies prefer being held...

    Re: Galactagogue Survey

What makes you think you need a galactagogue? As I asked in one of your other threads, what makes you think your supply is low?

If your supply is low, the best way to increase it is to breastfeed...

Re: What if he can't have dairy?

People don't need cow's milk, any more than we need horse's milk or cat's milk. If your son has had bad reactions to it, there's no need to ever reintroduce it.

I'm allergic to dairy, and I get...

Re: What do I do with this huge...

If you have an oversupply problem, and it sounds like you do in that one breast, pumping like this will only make it worse. Breastmilk is produced on a supply-and-demand system, so if you pump more...

Re: nursing down for a nap.. help!

This sounds like normal napping behavior to me. At that age, my baby napped best in the baby carrier. Sometimes she needed to be latched on, and sometimes she just needed to be near me. It was...

Re: Head vs. Heart and nursing to sleep!

I'm confused about this. Am I reading it correctly, that after he goes to sleep, you lie there awake trying to sneak away? Why?

My 18-month-old and I go to bed together when we're both tired,...

Re: What do I do with this huge...

I wonder if you have one or more plugged ducts making that breast rock-hard. Plugged ducts aren't as painful as mastitis (so I hear; I've never had mastitis) but they can still be painful.

    Does...

Re: My baby's a slow weight gainer

We don't have enough information to tell if your baby's weight gain is too slow, but if your baby actually does need more food, she needs more breastmilk, not formula.

    How is breastfeeding going?...
