  1. Re: stuffy nose, no nursing, engorged, help!

Have you tried nursing somewhere warm and damp? Eg in the bath/shower or simply in the bathroom with a hot shower running to steam up the room?

Even if she can't nurse well, little and often will...
  2. Re: Should I be concerned? *tmi poop pic*

I should add your child won't 'always' feed every hour, or at least at some stage they will be big enough to feed themselves. Lol! It can be easy to see things as lasting forever but then you look...
  3. Re: Should I be concerned? *tmi poop pic*

Every hour is normal! It may or may not get longer between feeds, but feeding will get quicker and baby will start to do something other than sleep and start to be entertaining soon. The initial...

    Re: self-weaning

Re: one yr yesterday! bfast help!

If you do eggs breakfast casseroles could work and you can do them in a slow cooker over night too. You can play about with recipes to use real meat if you want to avoid bacon/sausage.

    In fact...

Re: one yr yesterday! bfast help!

Yes! Almond milk is great to make porridge with :)

You can try quinoa too if you want an alternative to oatmeal.

I haven't even thought about being 'freed' up from nursing... My 1 year old...

Re: Whoohoo!!! We succeed, 1 yr.

Nothing to add to the PP's apart from my DD turned one in the past couple of weeks too! Like you we are still feeding and hoping to make it to at least 2 ;)
  12. Re: 3 month old not gained any weight for 10 days

3 months would be a real typical time for nursing habits to change and get quicker. Babys generally do not starve themselves so as long as you are offering and he is feeding try not to worry too...

    Re: No letdown

My daughter feeds different before bed, which makes no sense because for naps she happily feeds to sleep, bed times she switches sides, latches off and on and for a whole bunch of time around 4...

Re: dont you love long nights?

I think you and the baby should have the bed and your husband the sofa!

We have a cot attached to my side of the bed to make more space to co-sleep in and I couldn't survive long nights any other...

Re: Cannot Wear a Bra & Leaking

If you apply gentle pressure to the leaky side with your hand while you nurse from the other it reduces the leakage. My LC told me to do this and after a while for me the leaking on the other side...

  17. Re: Hugs please-Tapering off domperidone at 3.25

I was on 30mg a day (which I know isn't huge...) I went really gradually, so down to 20mg for a month, down to 10 for 3 weeks, bottled it and went back to 20, for another 2 months then down to 10 at...

  19. Re: Should I wean before my child remembers?

I have a couple of older friends that have partial memories of nursing both who speak warmly about it. One of whom then nursed her own.

I plan to let my DD self wean when she is ready as...
  20. Re: Hugs please-Tapering off domperidone at 3.25

    Oh Mama *hugs*

Not sure if it helps but we weaned off domperidone as getting prescriptions was an issue and my DD is still happily nursing (she is a lot younger than yours). I worried so much...

Re: baby losing a lot of weight :(

We were told to limit length of feeds due to baby getting tired and poor weight gain, however the underlying issue was poor milk transfer not the length of feeds themselves.

    If baby is now feeding...

Re: baby losing a lot of weight :(

Yes, nurse as often as you can! It will up your supply and help with not needing supplements :)

I'm not sure if you mean the paed wants you to wean off formula or to formula. Breastmilk is better...
  24. Re: 10 week old pain crying, increased nursing and diarrhea

Not sure if it helps but even without daycare etc my DD got a few days of diarrhea when she was 4 months ish. Doc told us to keep feeding on demand and it settled after a few days . By diarrhea I...
  25. Re: Baby not wanting to nurse...feeling hopeless!

Babies do get quicker/more efficient over time with feeding and often a few minutes is enough. Is your baby still producing wet/dirty nappies? Seeming content (as much as any baby is) between feeds?...
