    Re: Please Help!

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement and the outside viewpoints. I really needed to hear that because I have been confused about what to do for her with out being a bother while trying to...

    Please Help!

    Hi,
I desperately need advice for my friend. She just had her first baby, a girl, about 8 days ago. She breastfed fine in the hospital and when she came home she was unable to. She became engourged,...
  3. Re: When is it time to add another feeding of solids?

What I do with mine is I nurse all day with her, like everyone else does, but if she isn't happy with the breast and acting like she hungry for something more then I give her solids. You can...

    Re: Needing to vent...

Hmm, all this makes me glad and feeling lucky to be a stay at home mom out of state from my family. I have nothing against solids. My babies needed solids. I know some of you won't agree with me...

Re: Have just about had enough...

I know what you mean about sticking with it. As moms we have to tough out a lot of things for the benefit of our kids. My son bit me so hard once that I actually bled! I could see where the skin was...

Re: baby gets mad when latches on

My daughter did that too, except she never had a bottle. She might expect the same fast flow from your breast as she gets with the bottle. Mine still gives me a fit at times about my left breast. I...

Re: close to giving up please help

To help with the latch on practice it a lot. If she isn't on the nipple just right then brake the suction and try again. When her mouth is opened wide put her on the nipple. Her mouth should be...
  8. Re: Cuts or sores on aereola from teeth - help!

Maybe you are not being firm enough with her about biting you. I am not sure if you are or not, but I would firmly tell her no biting and end the nursing session right then so she knows you mean...

Re: close to giving up please help

I hope you don't have to give up! Hmm, I am no expert in this matter. I am nursing my second child, but my trouble where when they were first born. I am also with my kids all day long. I suggest that...

    Re: 7mos night feeding

I haven't had a problem with Orajel. I don't use it often. I like to let the body heal naturally unless there is a lot of pain. I don't like suffering. My girl loves solids and sometimes would rather...
  11. Re: Three and half week old won't stop nursing

Since reading this forum I have noticed that a lot of moms seem to overthink breastfeeding and analyse babies too much. I just relax and go with the flow. No pun intended. ;) If my baby is obviously...
  12. Re: 8 Months Of Nursing And Nipples Are Killing And Turning White!!!!

Yes I gave my kids solids before they were 6 months old. I feed them Gerber. My kids both showed me signs they needed it. They were not happy with just liquid food. They would nurse more than normal...
  13. Re: Three and half week old won't stop nursing

WOW this is a great support forum!! I too know what that is like. It is like ALL you do is nurse a little leech! But that is your main focus for right now. He is going through a growth spurt and...

    Re: 7mos night feeding

Sorry, but you have me confused about the diaper and feeding. Is she having 2 full diapers at night and that's when she eats the most? Then during the day she won't eat that much? If that is what you...
  15. Re: Latching on Problems All of a Sudden

GOOD POINT! I remember that happening with me too. With both my kids that happened and I had to dry off so they could get suction going.

    Re: not enough milk

I just want to add that your milk supply will catch up if you drink plenty of water and have your baby nurse frequently. Do you still feed him supplements so he doesn't go hungry? I have heard that...
  17. Re: 8 Months Of Nursing And Nipples Are Killing And Turning White!!!!

About the biting- firmly tell him NO BITING and make him latch off so he knows he is not supposed to do that. He is probably doing that to play when he is either done or not interested in nursing....
  18. Re: 7-8 hrs of uninterupted sleep. Is it OK?

I can see where you lc would be worried but if you have the milk why argue? You and your baby seem to have it all figured out. I too have babies that let me sleep during the night. My youngest (6...
  19. Re: Another question about the thrush ointment

The thrush medicine I was give by my doctor is Nystatin. It comes in a liquid for the babie's cheeks and in a tube of ointment for your nipples. The ointment is good for diaper rash caused by thrush...
  20. Re: EBF 6 months old weight question.

I think once you give her solids she will beef up. Solids put weight on my kids. Start off with rice - runny and mixed w/ breastmilk or formula. What ever you prefer. She'll get used to solids and...

    Re: Lots of Leaking

You are blessed to make a lot of milk. I was the same way. It is messy but atleast you know you've got it! Mine quit just recently and my girl is about 6 months old. There is hope.:)
  22. Re: Latching on Problems All of a Sudden

I wouldn't give her too many bottles. She might end up being too use to them. Maybe she needs to be a little hungrier before you nurse her. Babies go through phases and are always changing their...

    Re: Nipple Pain

I know the feeling. I too got thrush - w/ both of my kids. The treatment is pretty easy and fast. Got to be thankful for that. To keep it gone make sure you let your nipples air dry a lot!
  25. Re: Survey: Curious, who or what inspired you to b/f?

As the oldest of 6 breastfed kids it was all I knew. When I got pregnant I never even thought of having a choice. I love it!:) :)
