    Re: Weaning a toddler

Laura - he just went on his own....FINALLY....at 23mos. It was a few weeks after his last molar which I think had something to do with it. I really didn't have anything to do with it at all. Good...

    Re: Weaning a toddler

I actually did that after weaning the first baby (I exclusively pumped for him for a year, so different situation), but only with a little medicinal help. I haven't had a period since early 2003. :D

    Re: Weaning a toddler

We're down to 3 long nursing sessions and he seems fine with it. Yay. I'll cut another in a few weeks.

Oh, I won't likely get pg while nursing - I don't even ovulate when not nursing, lol.

    Re: Question about Weaning

If you are in pain, you might consider pumping enough to let the pressure out, but otherwise it's pretty normal. If you just pump a little or hand express in the shower, you won't build your supply...

    Re: Weaning a toddler

    Thanks.

Andrea - I don't think a few months will help - he will happily nurse until he's 18 by the way he's going, lol. We want to TTC again and I need to wean before that is going to happen. I...

Re: Question on food for mommy...

As a mom to a peanut allergic baby, I would also avoid peanuts, even if most babies of peanut-eating moms turn out just fine. Trust me, it stinks to be the mom of the one who ends up with the...

    Re: freezing banana's?

It's fine. They will turn brown when you freeze them, especially if pureed, but it doesn't affect the nutrition or taste. You can puree them before you freeze them and add a little lemon juice to...

    Re: Cord falling off???

Pretty gross, isn't it? It wil come off soon I admit I poked at both my kids' cords a bit because I wanted it off, but it didn't seem to help any. Congrats on your new arrival!

Re: Fat content of breastmilk...can it be altered?

Without reading the link, I think I recently read that you can alter the types of fat in breastmilk, though not necessarily the amount. Eating better quality oils will lead to better quality fats in...
  11. Re: Cosleeping linked to increased infant deaths in Milwaukee

    I'm glad I don't live in Milwaukee.

Just kidding. I also wonder if the numbers are skewed by substance abuse or other unsafe conditions. We co-slept for a while, but my babies never slept next...

Re: All of you with chronic hives...

I had them at 3mos PP with the second baby - badly - arms, legs, face, belly...blech! I saw a derm and she had me on a cocktail of zyrtec, benedryl, and several Rx creams. It really helped. She...

    Re: Feeding patterns...

That sounds perfectly normal for a brand new baby. She might be sleeping through the night earlier than other babies, by the sound of it. Even in first 2 weeks, I wouldn't wake her at night at...

    Weaning a toddler

    Hi!

I am ready to wean my 24mo old son, but he is not ready. In fact, he gets pretty violent when I tell him, "not now" or similar (hitting, pinching, head-butting). I have him down to 4-5 full...
