  1. Re: totally consumed--baby only taking bottle

Your words are so helpful. Thank you.

Your last sentence I think needs to be evaluated the most--to see if baby can really extract the milk. When she was little, she didn't gain her birthweight...
  2. Re: totally consumed--baby only taking bottle

Very interesting about the green poop deal.

I really don't know what our problem has been. She was born at 8.11 and at 8 weeks was only 9.4 pounds. That is when I got two lac consultants giving...
  3. totally consumed--baby only taking bottle

Long story short---had a baby girl born fullterm. Had issues with weight gain. Had to supplement formula with a bottle. I suspect that she would latch correctly but her suck wasn't very strong and...
  4. Re: 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

It's been ten days now and those first four ounces in the first four days were all she gained. Got her tounge checked today. Had met with a wonderful lactation consultant I had used with my two boys...
  5. Re: 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

Little update...in four days she gained four ounces! I think ive gotten about four hours sleep a night as well.....but at this time ot is surely helping!
  6. Re: 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

Very good. Yes, head circ. is good--baby's head grew normally--her head is in the 97th percentile. She also grew an inch so is now 22 inches.

Thank you so much for the estimates on weight. I plan...
  7. Re: 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

Thank you so much for your responses.

The county nurse never let me doc know about the slow weight gain to start. My doc was not pleased about this as just like you said, he would have liked to...
  8. Re: 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

...from what i can tell various wet and poopy diapers throughout the day. Forgot to add that.
  9. Re: 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

That is what I feel worst about, how could I not have noticed this? Her weight was checked at 1 week of age. Then at 2 weeks. The county nurse at 2 weeks noted baby hadn't gained back her birth...
  10. 92nd percentile to 9th percentile in 8 week old infant

    Hello,

My daughter had her 8 week check up today. She was born at 8 pounds 11 oz and went home at 8 pounds 3 oz. Quite an average birth, though she did have a lot of meconium present and needed to...

Re: Not taking the right side!

Yesterday he nursed twice and doing the whole football hold on the right side seemed to help. Thanks for the info! It was very weird, but Soren went to bed at 4PM (I thought it was just a nap)---he...

Re: Not taking the right side!

It has been creeping in I think maybe about a week or so...maybe a little less. He just got over pneumonia which we were in the hospital for for 2 nights. Today it went a little better. For the first...

Re: Not taking the right side!

Also, I did talk with my lactation consultant lady. She suggested that I try to pump 3 or 4 times today to try to get rid of the milk sitting in the right breast as it might be salty. (I had never...

My 10 month old son, Soren, for some reason doesn't want to take my right breast. He is a child that is content to nurse 3 times a day tops and for the past couple weeks has started to sleep straight...
