Yay for you two!:)
You go, girl!:)
At this point, solids are just for fun/getting him used to different textures...so no, he does not "need" them. Keep up the good work Mama!:)
My DS turned 15 months old yesterday, and we are still nursing 2-3 times per day.
My DS (15 months old yesterday!) loves solids, and is really good at feeding himself finger foods. I have been working with him a little bit on feeding himself with a spoon, but he is content to...
Yeah, I remember during the 07 Super Bowl (DS is now 14 months old), I was peacefully watching the game with him dozing in my lap & then he had an epic blowout. Thank God for Oxi Clean!:)
If you have any books or CD's (as in music not cloth diapers) around the house that you don't use any more, try selling them to a used books or music store for extra $$$. You can also try to sell...
WAHM...Ari is 13 months now and nurses 3-4 times a day. I took Mother's Milk tea when he was a newborn, but mainly because I liked the taste of it - I don't really think it helped my production...
Great job Mama!:)
Your perseverance is so inspiring!:) Good for you!
Ari gets solids 3-4 times a day, I would say about 1-2 oz per feeding. I am sure you are doing fine; the thing I always remember is that LO's tummy is only as big as their fist, so they do not need...
Bummer about the WIC program and the fact they won't take it off your check!:( We don't give Ari juice either...Dr said it is not necessary. My niece got juice as a baby and ended up with cavities...
"The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" is really good too.:)
My Ariel is just a wee bit older than your Gavin (Ari's birthdate is 12-06-06); we gave him mac & cheese this past weekend and he did just fine.:)
I am sure he is fine - my DS is 9 months old and was 85th percentile for height and 5th percentile for weight at his last checkup...babies come in all shapes and sizes!
I was keeping track for like the first month - then the pediatrician told us to just relax and only note unusual situations such as lack of pee/poop or symptoms of illness.
Thank you all for your info and support!:)
Yeah, I still nurse DS 4-5x/day. I was thinking the same thing about the solids...like why give them 4x/day when breast milk has so much more nutritional/caloric value.
Oops - I meant I get "flak" from the IL's - English is not my first language!:) BTW, DS bf's 4-5x/day in addition to the solids; not sure if this will help everyone answer my question or not. ...
My DS had his 9-month checkup last Thursday. He remains in the 85% percentile for height (29.25 inches!) and 60% percentile for head circumference. But - he has dropped from the 25% to the 5%...
Plums have helped my LO w/ constipation...go easy & don't give too much - I have found that a tablespoon is just fine!:)
I learned infant massage in a Mothers & Infants Yoga class that I took when DS was a few weeks old. I use cold-pressed apricot oil & have also heard that Burt's Bees makes a nice baby massage oil. I...
From the sound of things, your LO is doing just fine!:) Try to relax and enjoy these days - the LO's grow up too fast!!!
