Re: Excessive Throw up at 4 months?

She also seems to be sleeping a long stretch without eating! But maybe that's because mine still doesn't so I can't imagine it!

Re: Excessive Throw up at 4 months?

Is there a reason you are feeding to a schedule rather then demand feed? How much does she take in a bottle? Are bottles given in a paced manner? I wonder if she is over eating maybe?

    If she is...

Re: 10 mo not taking the bottle

Just a thought but if baby is taking solids well maybe these are replacing his need for milk?

There's no comfort/bonding from a bottle so in theory if he needs less it makes sense for him to drop...
  4. Re: Streaks of blood in stool...very concerned

I just want to say breastmilk is transparent and blue-ish with only a thin white layer on top, that's normal! ;)

    Re: Mastitis? Or something else?

I had something similar a few weeks ago, thought it was a plugged duct so used warm flannels and nursed lots and tried to pump it out, which helped. Hot shower or bath and try to nurse or hand...
  6. Re: What do you do when LO is hungry&sleepy together to nurs

It's not too late to get a nursing relationship back! Kellymom has a great page on ideas to get baby back to breast

    Bottles need to...

Re: '6 Months Old Now, you can do it too!'

I back carry with a R and R buckled carrier or with a woven wrap and I think if tightened/adjusted correctly there's very little chance of my daughter coming out/ being dropped. Getting them in and...

Re: '6 Months Old Now, you can do it too!'

    :)
  9. Re: Milk fat stuck to bottle during transfer

If you tip the bottle up so the milk is over where it is stuck and jiggle it, I find that works better then shaking. If that explanation makes any sense!
  10. Re: Suddenly reduced supply at 1 year old

I know more than one person who has got pregnant while bf without AF, so I assumed ovulation is possible; or it could be the timing I guess that they 'caught' on their first one. Bodies are weird!
  11. Re: Sleeps at the breast, then wakes up screaming for food..

Have you seen an IBCLC? Has anyone done a weigh-feed weight to assess milk transfer? Not having a suck suck swallow pattern often indicates inefficient milk transfer.

If TT, and or lip tie have...
  12. Re: Pumping for SNS: questions about spoilage and storage

Never froze those bottles so I don't know if they work or not, sorry!

Also if using bottles, they to make sure they are given in a paced manner to prevent flow preference and over feeding. :)
  13. Re: Pumping for SNS: questions about spoilage and storage

    Hi there,

Am slightly confused as to whether you are using bottles or an SNS (which is a system that uses a small tube at the nipple to provide extra milk) or both to supplement; however that...
  14. Re: Suddenly reduced supply at 1 year old

How long has your supply been down? I get a bit if a dip when I ovulate (least I think that's the cause) every month despite AF not returning yet (thankfully!) but it usually only lasts a couple of...
  15. Re: Left breast still enlarged/engorged 12 months in...

Is there a reason you dropped a pump session? It may be that your body is taking a while to regulate to the change.

I wonder if it's worth going back to 3 sessions but pumping less per session....
  16. Re: Baby Ioves food more than the breast :(

I would consider dropping spoon feeding and allowing baby to self feed often called 'baby led weaning' or 'baby led solids' so that he isn't too full for milk :)

Re: I don't want to give up. Pls help.

The PP's give great advice, we had lots of issues at the start too, but it was worth hanging on in there for us, so keep at it *hug*

Re: Uric crystals, and cluster feeding

You said you are doing pre and post feed weighs, I'm assuming these show she is transferring milk ok?

Cluster feeding is normal and shouldn't cause crystals :(
  20. Re: Help! How can I fix a shallow latch and bad suck

Try to move away from a nipple shield if you can too, as it can narrow a latch as they suck on the shield instead of taking a proper mouthful. It's worth doing partial feeds/sleepy dream feeds at...
  21. Re: Help! How can I fix a shallow latch and bad suck

There's a few things you can do to widen a latch, if you stroke your nipple nose to chin a few times baby shwould open wide and you can try and get them to latch at the widest point (takes practice),...
  22. Re: I just need support *warning, semi venting*

If she is used to bottles, try using breast sandwiches, and breast compressions to widen the latch as it often gets narrow using bottles/nipple shields. The 'flipple' (you tube it :)) can help you...

Re: Not enough milk for tomorrow

Nursing at lunch may not solve the ultimate issue, but it may be a short term solution until you get to your next day off maybe? Hopefully you can then get a bit extra by pumping and nursing?

  24. Re: Poor latch with high palatial arch post tongue-tie divis

There's quite an interesting debate on whether exercises post TT division are necessary and I wouldn't dismiss an LC just because they didn't recommend them. It should be discussed tho; esp with a...
  25. Re: Poor latch with high palatial arch post tongue-tie divis

    Hi there,

We had strong posterior TT, poor latch post division, poor weight gain, an m shaped palate, and needed to supplement for a chunk of time,...
