    Re: Just need some support...

:clap :clap I have had a very easy time nursing, and I am wowed by your dedication. Continue what you are doing and don't let anyone get to you. You are doing what's best for you and your LO. Enjoy...
  2. Re: DD throwing up all day...could it be due to formula or soy milk?

I don't want to scare you, but you may want to have an allergy test done just to be safe. When my LO was almost 12-months we gave him whole cow's milk. He then threw up and went into anaphylactic...

Re: Is this a weaning thing or what?

My LO does this at every nursing session. I usually take his hand and start to tickle it or sing a song and make gestures with it. That may take her mind off of it for you. Good luck!!!

Re: One side nursing - anyone?

My LO is the same way. When I tried to switch him to the other side he would get mad and scoot his way back. I finally started saying "other side please" and after a little while he now knows what...

    Re: LO refusing to eat

His doctor suggested I get the Poly-Vi-Sol with iron since he was low at his one-year checkup. He still nurses when I get home at night.

    LO refusing to eat

I have been working on weaning my lo now for over 2 months. Only this week has he stopped eating at daycare and now at home. I've read online about this type of issue, but have not found any...

    Allergy to Milk

I have slowly begun to wean my lo, and tried giving him a bottle of milk and breastmilk yesterday. Needless to say we ended up in the emergency room with an allergic reaction. If he is allergic to...

    Re: Getting Frustrated!

Have you increased the suction and speed on the pump? Try changing the postion of the horn once you see the flow lowering. I have to do that everytime I pump. Sometimes I have to get it at an...

    Growth Spurt at 9 Months???

My lo has been eating like a horse over the past week. I didn't think he would have another growth spurt until he was at least a year old. I cannot keep pumping fast enough for him! Is anyone else...

    Re: Thrush

Thanks so much for the help! I was worried I was going to have to stop bfeeding (so sad at the thought!), but from what it sounds like in your case I don't have to.:tumbsup
  11. Re: urgent - how do you give a BF lo meds?

We just had a bout with thrush and whenever I had to put the Nistatin in Preston's mouth I would put 1/4 of dose and then close his mouth for a sec to make sure he swallowed, and then so on to finish...

Did the Diflucan help you and the baby? How long did it take to go away using it?

    Re: Nursing strike?....

My lo did the same thing the week that his first 2 teeth came in. Once his teeth came through we were back to normal. He is now getting his top 2 and not nursing like usual again. Try a teething...

    Thrush

My lo has had thrush for 2 weeks now. His pediatrician gave us Nistatin (spelling?), but it didn't work. Now I have it on my nipples. Both my doctor and Preston's say that I should use this liquid...
  15. Re: LO sleeps through night... will i lose milk supply unless i pump at night?

Don't worry about nighttime feedings if your lo is not waking up. Get all the sleep you can right now. Your lo may be hitting a growth spurt also which could cause the sleeping. Just enjoy it for...

Re: HELP -- New Pumping Schedule?

Start using it now before you move. Don't let it go to waste if you can help it. You can take the fresh milk and store it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks when needed. Good luck!!!
  17. Re: Worried about getting too much/not enough milk at daycare..

I agree with Lainey's Mom. If your caregiver could offer a pacifier it may help to determine whether she is hungry or just wanting to suck.
  18. Re: Worried about getting too much/not enough milk at daycare..

I wouldn't push ounces on a breastfed baby as they tend to stop eating when they are full. If she wants to eat then she is probably hungry. She is due for a growth spurt soon so just go with the...

Re: HELP -- New Pumping Schedule?

I had this same problem with a job change after the baby. If you can pump some on the weekends to supplement what you miss in the week it would help wonders, even if it's an extra bottle for the...

Re: One breast per feed = engorged!!

After my lo was born I had the same problem. If you switch sides about 10 minutes into the feeding you should be okay. She will get what she needs as far as hind milk. :hello
  21. Re: pump and clean, pump and clean, pump and clean...

The refrigerator is not an option at my office so I have found the Medela wipes. Supposedly they will sanitize the parts for reuse and I have not had any issues from using them. The wipes are great...

Claritin was the only prescription my doctor would even suggest to use. I take the generic CVS brand, which is half the price, everyday. I have done that since Preston was a month old. I have not...
