  1. Re: Question about protein intake for breastfed 1 year old

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Try to track it for a few days. Look up the foods he eats and see how much protein they contain. Some days he may eat more than others. A piece of bread could have...

Re: Vegan Mom and Breastfeeding 7 mos old

I don't think any of those would be bad. I just looked up the ingredients of the Raw Protein Powder and it looks okay to me. :shrug You could ask a doctor, but I don't know how much luck you would...

Re: Pumping for baby in hospital

I remember being a little discouraged at first at the very small amount I was pumping, but it is definitely normal. Pretty amazing story, by the way. Congrats and hope your little one gets better...
  4. Re: Not making enough to feed her! Dr said to supplement

    How old is your LO?
  5. Re: 5 days old - doing well overall but a few questions

Don't worry too much about counting the feedings. It's good to keep track of the time so that you don't go too long between them, though. At this point, if it's possible, you should probably try to...
  6. Re: Breastfeeding causing "overweight" toddler?

Most women's breastmilk isn't nutritious by now, but yours is so nutritious that it's making your LO overweight? That sounds completely ridiculous.

That's what I was thinking I'd do. I'll see what I can do and wait and see.

    Re: Cluster of tiny lumps

No, not near the areola. I can just feel them. I would barely notice a lump on the outside if I hadn't felt them by accident. There is no redness or anything.

    Cluster of tiny lumps

Could this be a plugged duct? They are slightly painful to the touch, but not bothering me. They've been there for maybe a week. DD barely nurses at all on this side, but I tried to get her to nurse...

    Re: Worried Gramma

It sounds like a hard situation. From what you're saying it seems as though they are not going to want to hear any advice from you. If they will listen at all maybe you can get her to talk to someone...

Re: You know you're nursing a toddler when...

:rofl Good choice. At least you didn't get stuck with "eat" as a name for nursing. I love the way they talk at this age. They combine words in the cutest way. :)

  15. Re: Hepatitis C positive mom new to breastfeeding.

She's worried about blood being in the milk, probably
  16. Re: Hepatitis C positive mom new to breastfeeding.

There is no reason you can't continue to nurse, but you want to get any latch issues worked out so that you can try to prevent having to deal with this again. If you do have these issues again, try...

    Re: BM Yogurt

Yeah, like I said it kind of freaked me out. That was why I only made it once. In theory I don't think it would be a bad idea, but with all the work that's involved and the fact that you wouldn't...

    Re: BM Yogurt

    Re: Worried about weight

If the doctor isn't concerned I wouldn't worry. I get the same comments all the time about my DD. She's just small. People come in various sizes, I don't know why people always think they need to...

    Re: I'm afraid it's over... :-(

It is definitely not over. Start drinking water and nurse as often as you can. Remember that the pump isn't as effective at removing milk as a baby. One ounce is not nothing and you can always build...

  23. Re: Suddenly no milk, will not take bott

You can limit when she can breastfeed. It's better to do it gradually. It doesn't have to be traumatic for her. There will be times when she nurses a lot more and times when she nurses a lot less....
