Re: Teaching Time-NO place to pump

I pumped in our cooks' office, off the kitchen. They didn't need to be in there at the times I pumped. I have my own classroom but it is special ed. and so there were always students in there, so I...

    Re: Drying up? Kind of...

My son is not yet two and I also experience this, so you're not weird. I think she means that phrase as a way to delay an older child that is wanting to nurse so often it is uncomfortable. They can...

Re: Still nursing at 30 months

:whatshesaid My son is doing pretty well with signing instead of pulling up my shirt, but if I am sitting, he is right there! He is 22 months...

    Re: agatation and negative feelings

I'm glad someone else is feeling this way and your LO is about the same age as mine! The only other people I heard who felt this way had LOs about three or four. I read on another thread that it was...

    breastfeeding agitation

So there was another thread in this forum about something like this: that uncomfortable feeling of being "nursed dry", and with me I also get an itchiness in my breast when I get this feeling. I...

    Re: NIP after 12m?

Teaching him the sign for milk took a few days of persistence, hand over hand, and not giving it to him until he made the sign, but it paid off to have him do the sign in public instead of grabbing....

I just wanted to add...did you ever experience itching in your breast when you got this feeling you describe? Because I have been lately. Will is very helpful and scratches my breast for me...

    Re: Milk after weaning?

Personally, I gave my baby fresh cow's milk. I know a lot of people do not. If by "milk powder" you mean powdered formula, I would not think that would be necessary.

    Re: not on the bottle...

I never gave my first baby a bottle because like you I stayed at home with her. We tried to leave her for the first time at 5 months and it was hard on the sitter, but they got through it. And then...

    Re: I think I can, I think I can . . .

You can make it three more months!! And when it is over you can look back and it will be one of the great accomplishments of your life, to be able to say your baby was formula free!

Re: Back to work anxiety :o(

Yes, it is absolutely good to continue the BM for as long as possible, just for me, I had pumped for 7 months by that 1 yr point, and I was DONE with the pump. When I pump weaned I dropped one...

Re: Back to work anxiety :o(

COngratulations on nursing your LO so long! And how lucky you are to live in Canada! As with PP, I had to go back to work much earlier and there may be other moms who pumped for 1 YO, but I would say...

    Re: A Million Questions

I wouldn't think you would have to have bottles more close together. When you get that close you want to spend as much time with your baby as you can, IMO. That's good and encouraging that he took...

    Re: Need Reassurance

You can surely pump wean now. You kept it up longer than I did! Good for you!
  20. Re: Did you encounter bottle preference once returning to work?

My LO never had a bottle preference. I went back to work at 12 weeks. Just make it a rule: your baby gets bottles when you are not there and breastfeeds when you are there.
