    Re: toddler not nursing much

Well she does have teeth coming in right now, but this (nursing less and often not wanting to) has been going on about 4 months. So I don't think its related. She's never had an ear infection or...
  2. Re: How many times a day do you nurse your toddler?

Mine is 16 months and nurses 1-3 times most days (24 hours) but I wish it was more. My others as toddlers it was WAY more like 6-12 times a day until after 2 when it dropped down to 1-3 times until...

    toddler not nursing much

My toddler (16 months) is not nursing much. She did not want to start solids until just after 1, and then when she did, she basically cut WAY down on breastfeeding (I have even shrunk bra sizes). ...

    Re: BLS

All kids are different, my youngest really only prefers things mashed up. But I can still do mashed up bits of things and then make little droplets of it on her tray. For example I can mash up...

    Re: Around the clock

you're doing a great job. Keep it up! Babies have lots of different changes in poops and feeding frequency and poop consistency and how often they poop etc etc...most of the time, like the VAST...

Re: keeping baby hydrated when sick

Breastfeeding will provide the antibodies and other good things needed to fight off the illness! Don't replace breastfeeding with anything else!!!

I once had it that my child was sick and would...

    Re: Thrush or Residue?

when my first had thrush it was just white spots but they did not rub off unless I really tried hard (and then it hurt her) but she wasn't in any pain at all until I tried to wipe at them.

    I don't...

    Re: BLs and day care

I don't think there is a "right" either. I just wait until they are ready (as per the # steps above) and then give them some things they can pick up with their fingers (not chokable, no allergen...
  9. Re: Is there anyone NOT starting their LO on rice cereal ?

I've had 3 babies, none of which have ever or will ever eat rice cereal. My logic is that what did people do in the days before packaged rice cereal? They gave their babies real foods.

    I just...

Re: 8 mo old wants Solids more than breast!

PLEASE don't feel you're a bad mom!!! You're not!!! Making decisions about a child as the child's mother is a hard thing to do and NO ONE gets it right all the time! Its okay! We have to learn...

    Re: Around the clock

Glad to hear you have 2 crockpots and that my idea for that will help. Double batch anything you can! It really helps a lot and it takes less time than making the same meal again another day- you...

Re: Stomach bug decreased milk supply!!!

just nursing like the above women said your body will produce again- don't worry! Don't try to "get it all done" that you didn't get done when you were sick, just nurse and nurse and you'll be back...

    Re: Around the clock

You will really like having a good carrier or two. The ergo is great- I've often said I would die without mine. Or feel like it anyways. I would have suggested that.

    Another option to consider...

Re: can't get her to nap to sleep

I didnt read all the replies but just wanted to say that my babies have all gone throguh this stage, but DD3 is the worst for it, she will hardly ever nurse to sleep only a handful of times, even...

Re: 8 mo old wants Solids more than breast!

Okay, I would agree with the other replies. Its best for her to get the most of her nutrition out of breastmilk at this age. If you don't give it to her, she will be more hungry to nurse I would...

Re: 9 mo only nursed to sleep

I think you are doing fine too. Go with your instinct.

All my kids woke to nurse and I just let them. Sometimes its for comfort like for teething.

My first nursed to sleep for a long...

Re: Good foods for constipated baby?

I'd go with prunes, or pears. NOT bananas! Apples can be constipating too apparently. Prunes would be #1 choice and for my kids when needed its readily available as baby food for like 50 cents a...

how long in seconds/minutes was she nursing before this? approximately? When did this start?
  20. Re: Not sure of health visitor advice - help!

Oh and I like lllmeg's sleep advice! Its very true. The World health organization reccomends breastfeeding 2 years and AAP until 1 I believe. I've nursed mine each 2 1/2 years (then my milk dried...
  21. Re: Not sure of health visitor advice - help!

good advice here...but also wanted to chime in to say that I'm on my 3rd baby (also 7 months) and none of my babies were eating solids at 7months, this one is not ready (and I am thinking maybe...
  22. Re: 3yo asking for food to fall asleep, not weaned yet

I also interpreted it as him falling asleep while eating as in sleeping while food was still in his mouth. It might seem obvious BUT that was the way I interpreted it. Sometimes its hard to...
  23. Re: Mom ready to wean but 2 1/2 year old is not :/

Good I am glad you feel you can handle it better now! That is wonderful! Come back if you need more support.
  24. Re: 3yo asking for food to fall asleep, not weaned yet

I think other ideas for comfort would be good too. It IS good that he knows why he wants to eat because we all do that (well most of us, I know I do) eat for emotional reasons at times and I think...
  25. Re: 3yo asking for food to fall asleep, not weaned yet

I would worry about eating and not brushing his teeth after if he falls asleep eating. I would worry about cavities.

Perhaps look into other ideas to relieve congestion like a humidifier perhaps...
